Concord South Congregational Church Garden Tour 2014

This was my first time on this tour and my friend and I found it very worthwhile. There were gardens in Concord, Hopkinton and one in Webster. After doing a quick visit to the Hopkinton used book sale, we thought we would do the tour backwards, have lunch in Concord and then visit the Webster garden which was only open in the afternoon. We barely made it to all the gardens and I only took a few photos. This one shows a beautiful driveway retaining wall studded with sedums.

I did not take any pictures at the first garden on their list. It was professionally designed and planted. The house was on a slope so this one also had a very steep driveway retaining wall, this time shaded, and stairs leading to a pool area. This was magazine worthy and since it was something not possible for me to duplicate in my own garden, I did not take photos. Alas. I was very impressed by how the entire city lot was landscaped and integrated. The end of the pool was bermed because of the slope and must have been gorgeous in the spring when the ground phlox was in bloom.

This was a lovely hosta garden. Note the sap pail hung on the tree filled with annuals.

At this same home I loved the whimsical elements in the border of this little house.
