North-facing shady window box - what will work here?

I'm looking to spruce up the window box underneath my front window. It's roughly 7 ft. long, 1.5 ft wide and 2 ft deep. I'd prefer to plant WA native plants, but haven't been able to find any info on native plants/window boxes. A friend said that hostas, creeping jennies and potato vines would work. The box gets a fair bit of sun in the morning from the east, but is shaded most of the day. Any suggestions would be much appreciated by this new gardener!
