I just use regular craft paint in the little bottles, available at Michael's or Hobby Lobby... but most large stores carry that stuff in their tiny craft sections. I'm sure if you look, there is a specific type of paint that is made for painting on porous surfaces that might be moist at times... I'm not incredibly interested in how long the paint lasts on the pots, so it doesn't matter to me. I'm sure you could find sealer, as well. Michael's and Hobby Lobby both carry a nice selection of stencils, too. I've used pieces of a sponge to dab the paint on, using a stencil. The English Ivy pattern is one of my favorites, as are other types of vines or country type motifs. I don't have a photo of the pot set I did... I never thought to take one. Most of the pots I have currently are either plain, or they're so ratty looking, a picture wouldn't be worth taking! But I'm sure you get the ideas... You could also use a clear/transparent bathroom silicone and glue little pieces of tiles or mirror around the rim... or colored glass pieces, or whatever... a mosaic! Take a look around your local craft store... you just never know what sort of ideas might be waiting! Think "pot rim"... and let your imagination go wild!

I have a lot of species. In fact, I've listed some here in other posts. I also have available right now: S. kirkii kirkii, S. parva, S. Wanange Station, S. sp. Bally, S sufruitcosa. I'll have more species available later in the year, also. I prefer to get responses via email, as each trade is individual. I also need to have a list of what is being offered in trade. Oh wow, NC - that's interesting! I had forgotten that "initial", yes I vaguely remember hearing that in some in some dim past. Angie, me too. We need a whole thread devoted to what we trashed and why. I wonder if I still have any photos of the termite mounds of shavings? Or the completely-eclipsed counter? Or the baggie-laden clothesline? Or the tile: that was *the* most hideous tile I have seen *anywhere*. period. We need a thread to find who had the most hideous former tile.... fwiw, the layout in my old kitchen was pretty OK-ish, permitting for 14 years of life in it. Some grumbling, but definitely live-in-able considering what so many in the world have to put up with. But I was always afraid one day those termites would chew up the last thread holding the uppers to the wall... Oh yeah, there was that hole that permitted the rat to run down from the attic; it wasn't great either. Once I closed a cabinet door on the poor thing's tail. I can still see it there, hanging down ... might even have a picture somewhere. shudder. I let him go eventually, slooping up his tail up and away; seemed the best of a string of really bad choices. Eventually we got on a first-name basis.
