Thanks to everyone for coming to the plant swap and for bringing such wonderful plants to swap as well as bringing delicious goodies. I thought you might enjoy this picture.

What a nice looking group! I hope all of you had a great day. I have never been to one and would love to have come, but little league rules here in the spring.
What kind of fun stuff did everyone share?

We had a great time and a nice variety of plants-some veggies like tomatoes and cabbage, perennials like hosta, iris, Solomon's Seal, ginger, lupine, annuals like violas just to name a few. We also got to see Annie's garden, which was beautiful as always. I marveled at her trillium that she grew from seed, as well as some beautiful bearded iris that were in bloom while we were there.

I'm looking forward to it! I have plenty of red bee balm (gets invasive - be forewarned!), some comfrey (same deal), and blackstem peppermint (umm... invasive seems to be a theme here!) I'll also have a few wintersown herb seedlings like mullein, horehound, and hyssop. Didn't get around to WS'ing many annuals - doh! Still waiting for some of the WS perennials to sprout, and assessing some of the weird winter-kill I've had in my herb garden (who knew catnip and lemon balm could die out over a strange winter???) I'm not looking for much in particular. I love herbs and berries and perennials, and would actually like to grow Russian comfrey and walking onions if anyone has some... and maybe lemon balm to replace mine that died. Hope all this rain stops by June! Nightingale :o)

Hi Annie! My MIL is coming up for that weekend, so we will both be coming. Here is what I can think that I'll be able to dig up so far: european ginger american ginger hosta-sounds like they're in high demand this year! i'll dig up as many as i can spare pink turtlehead japanese anemone i have LOADS of creeping phlox (pink and lavender) a couple NO ID peonies stachys hummelo anemone nemerosa probably some tiny spirea japonica seedlings i could also probably whack off some shoots of bridal-wreath spirea if anyone is interested in trying it i have kerria japonica 'Pleniflora' and have heard it is easy to root from cuttings if anyone wants to give it a try i may have an epimedium (i think that particular one bloomed pink and white) emerald gaiety euonymous (i have read that this gets 2-4' tall, but mine have always been less than 8" or so and quite a spreader) I'm sure there will be more once I start digging! Annie, even if I don't have a chance before the swap to pick up the cake tupperware from last year's swap I'll be sure to bring another lemon cake! What time is the swap? Looking forward to it! Susan

Have reserved Blue Fescue plants : sasha-nh (TY for S&S hosta) and annie nh Will bring additional for the taking/trading. Its a very pretty plant that can be ignored once planted. It is not particular about soil either. Lisa(ishareflowers), thank you so much for bringing sweet woodruff for me! No tornado damage here, although high winds did take down a few tree limbs. Just north of me by 10 miles did take a hit, especially Sturbridge and Brimfield. Springfield and Munson have unbelievable serious damage where the tornado touched down. Very sad the amount of property damage sustained in the tornado path, which seemed to follow along the towns on the Mass Pike. Susan

Thank you everyone for coming to the swap.I think everyone had a great time. I know I did. I can't believe the food you people brought. It was gourmet awesome. I hope we get recipes . Those of you who left things behind, I have put them on top of the refrigerator and you can pick them up in the fall. I was out today starting to plant all my treasures. Lisa, I have put the coral bells in a shady moist area vey near my red astilbe. I will be giving it tender loving care. I also planted my chocolate joe Pye weed in a place of honor in my garden. It is just awesome. How tickled I am, Deidre, to have this beautiful plant. I also planted dahlias, sedums,jack in the pulpits, lavender,and butter fly weed all wonderful plants I will be getting up early tomorrow to plant the rest of my treasures I put some pictures on Facebook If you are not a member you can ask to be my friend and that should get you on.

I have been so busy working at my 2 jobs, that I haven't checked in for a while (if I can get myself out of the dirt!) I've never been to a plant swap-what is it like? I'd imagine it's kind of like trading baseball cards or marbles- like one for one- is this so? Now that the preschool year is over, I have a tiny bit more time so please be sure to keep listing those NH goings-on. I'd love to meet new garden buddies!

Bumpety...when's the next one? Is it too early to even think about it? (sorry; I think "Spring" and that means March 21 til sometime in May...maybe I'm a bit premature with this...LOL!)
