Honeysuckle woes

LauraBC

I have (or had) a lonicera sempervirens (at least it was labelled that way) climbing a trellis (or 3) which bloomed pale yellow this year (thought it was supposed to be red/orange) but the few leaves that are still there are COVERED in powdery mildew, otherwise its totally naked. It is (was) huge and I sure didn't have this problem last year, but it didn't bloom either. Now, I am thinking I am going to pull the sucker out of there (its 2 years old). My question is (finally) can I plant another honeysuckle in the same location that is PM resistant? or am I asking for trouble?
