Japanese Flowering Cherry - should I keep two or just one?

I originally had 15 seedlings, but that was ridiculous (my balcony is only 15x4!), so I brought a bunch to work and let my coworkers have them.

I kept the four strongest for myself, and figured I'd keep the two strongest of those. My thinking was that in order to get a nice flower display every year, I would need two trees. I don't remember where I got this idea from, though, and now I'm doubting my memory.

Thoughts? Given my space limitations - and how many people are eager to give the trees I don't want good homes - I wouldn't mind only keeping one tree for myself.

I'm not planning on staying in my little condo gardening on my little balcony forever. My hope is that in a few years, when the tree has gotten too big for a pot, I'll finally be living somewhere with a nice yard.
