On Saturday I will be attending my Aunt's funeral, she passed away yesterday as well. She was one of many of my father's brothers/sisters and spouses and the last one in their hometown, now that connection is gone.

A large family can be so comforting at these times and I trust Papou's family will help each other through this time of sorrow.

During the funeral mass tomorrow I will include Papou and family in my thoughts and prayers.

I haven't been on thei website for a long time. I have been checking in again and read about Papou on the Hallson Website. Wanted to make sure you all knew.

It is with mixed emotion today,that we are all feeling the loss of our dear Papou,This great man who has given us so much over the years,It has been a true honor to have know him.
He will be missed more than words can express.
I am glad his suffering is over,and a new journey has begun for him.

I'm so very sorry. I once emailed him and told him how much I loved his website. He emailed me back and talked to me like an old friend, inviting me to stop by if ever I was in his "neighborhood". Now that he can garden forever, I can only imagine how beautiful his garden will be in heaven. What a hosta walk that will be, one we will all enjoy someday. He is now our Hosta Angel.

I'm so sad to hear of this great loss and can't imagine the sorrow for his family. I want to tell a short story. Here in Texas I've always been told we can't really grow Hosta but one day when I only had 2 small simple hosta I stumbled on his website and that was all I needed. Now I have a magnificent hosta garden - because he inspired me. What a treasure while he was here on Earth and I know he blessed so many others. I look forward to one day seeing his heavenly garden but until then I wish you peace.

The loss of a special loved one is so hard on us, but we must remember for those who knew our Lord and Savior, is it a celebration time for them. This world is our trial and when we get to be with Jesus, he promised no more pain or suffering, not even a tear. He's now in a real paradise!

We say farewell to a great gardener and inspiration. Papou shall surely be missed. I think I need to add Liberty to my collection. I agree that Liberty image would be a good addition to the masthead for this forum.

Papou came to be my hosta friend very early on in his hosta gardening. I enjoyed knowing him. Once he sent me pictures of himself working overseas and then of all his family and lovely wife. So sorry for your loss.

I'm saddened to hear of Papou's passing, but so happy to hear he was at home surrounded with Love from his family and friends.

I will always remember his quick responses to me a few years ago (as a beginning Hosta collector) and his willingness to share great ideas and tips. He gave much to the Hosta gardening community.

May God keep his family in His loving embrace during this time of grief. I rejoice in knowing he is in a Garden of Eternal Life now.
