Just one last endorsement for the above linked fiskers snips, I have the same kind and it's one of my favorite garden tools. One thing about them is that they're slightly short - depending on what you are reaching to trim, this can become an issue. In these situations my longer go-to option is Joshua Roth GardenCut scissors, with the red handle (can find them on amazon or many other places). There's a regular and stainless model, I prefer the stainless because I'm too lazy to prevent rust on regular carbon steal myself. But really I think it's more about what feels good in YOUR hand - doesn't need to be "for gardening".

Oui hoovb - it gets very, VERY hot and humid here. That's why I'm so ecstatic over the spring flush when I can go out and enjoy the weather. I basically stay inside in the AC all July and August. The fall flush is equally appreciated for those reasons. I love seeing roses in October and November. I'm hoping for good things from Tea Clipper, it only has three blooms on it now, I don't know how many buds, but it is over 4 feet high but narrower, maybe 2 1/2 to 3 feet wide. I'm going to have to support it in some way while it is going through its awkward teenage phase. It is in full sun in really good soil so I'm hoping for the best. It is grafted. I decided almost all Austins do better grafted, at least here. I do have canker problems here too, Maggie always gets it but manages to throw out new canes every year. I lost a lot of roses a few years back to canker after the Easter freeze. TG didn't have any problems with it this past winter even though it was a colder one than normal. Maybe it is because we didn't have the normal January thaw and no real freeze/thaw cycles at all. Hopefully my pyramid structure will help support the canes so they don't snap off. I've owned both Andis and Oster and found the Andis to be quieter but maybe it was the model ...........not sure. Both are good brands but decide by feel, weight and the type hair you're cutting. Also, get all the info you can on the model you're considering, since the one you want may be limited in the type of blades it uses. Blade size is determined by the hair you're cutting......fine, coarse, short, long, etc. Also, I've never found the combs useful, but that may just be me! Looks like a stand alone wardrobe needed but I am puzzled by this room. What is the original purpose of room if not a bedroom as there is no closet? Or, are you not located in US where built in bedroom closets are standard? Is the desk in this room for you or for little girl? Age of little girl? Does that child live in this home 100% of time or is this room a multi use room & used as her bedroom when she’s in this home? Is that a working radiator by the door & with all the games etc stacked on & next to it? What is behind the doors in the hallway into room? Looks like storage so can some of the games etc be stored in that cupboard? What is white box thing on floor between desk & wall with built in shelves? Will you post a drawing of room with all measurements including window & width & length of bed & drawer chest next to bed. Can or do you plan to hang some of the art on walls?
