Compared to most here, I'm just a beginner as I only have a few hostas hanging around. I did visit the Hosta Convention vendors in Davenport this afternoon and only walked out with a Stained Glass and a Brunnera Jack Frost(took ALOT of self control). Of course I picked up a couple others elsewhere. Here's my new little stash.

Stained glass, Francee, Regal Splender and Night Before Christmas.

Will my Night Before Christmas get more white centers and less green?

I know..I have been a freak since I found this message board..I think I've planted ten new plants just this last week...and believe it or not..I dream of Hostas....oh my..my OCD is really kicking in ...lol

Electrolux sent me a new metal panel by Fedex Next Day. I needed the metal panel on which the knobs were located.The authorized tech will come and install it in a few days. Covered by warranty. They didn't ask many questions. Incidentally, when the panel did not arrive last week when scheduled, I called them and they reordered it saying there must have been some confusion. I received it last week. But, to my surprise, two days ago, I got a second package with the electronic wave touch control panel that is located on the top of the range (albeit with a small plastic tab broken off in transit I suppose). They must have misunderstood the part I wanted the second time. So, in case my electronics ever get fried I now have a free spare. I just have to glue the broken tab back on. Go Electrolux!

It's very hard to stand up for yourself when the person who's lashing out is somebody you love, but if you don't put a stop to it, then it gets worse, until everything including the weather & the price of gas is your fault. I don't know how to tell you to do it, but when hubs starts blaming you, you must nip it in the bud. I would envision myself putting up a hand, palm out, & saying, "Whoa. You need to talk to your daughter about what she does, & you need to take responsibility for what you do. I will take responsibility for what I do, but not for what anybody else does. The scapegoating has to stop right now." I think that would be a big step toward disengaging, & it might give hubs some insight into the fact that *he* needs to disengage too; he didn't make her forge checks, he didn't make her have a child she isn't ready to take care of, he didn't do the things she's doing: He didn't do these things, & he isn't responsible or guilty. She is doing them, & she's responsible. About the threats...has anyone filed a police report? This guy is dangerous, & no matter how she arrived at her personality or habits, it sounds like your stepdaughter is just as dangerous. time to put up some walls or armor; you & hubs must get on the same side & protect yourselves, or the situation will escalate, & violence is likely. I wish you the best.

I searched "jumbo s hooks" and found some; but they look more "long" than "big." These look more specific in sizing, but I don't know how you can buy just a couple. http://spanwell.com/extra-large-s-hooks-heavy-duty-hooks/ ooh, look, you can buy individual ones for just under $20 each. http://spanwell.com/shop/ I'm w/ lazy_gardens: create a loop on the handle--I used zip ties to do that for my brooms, bcs the holes in their handles are not a good shape to go over a hook. I like the zip ties/cable ties because they are stiff and the loop stays open. I have some braided twine as the loop for a few other items, and the loop flops around more than I like. I slipped the zip tie on, adjusted it to be the size I wanted, and clipped the extra tail off close to the clasp.

I agree, that is not your fee to swallow. A bit ridiculous in my opinion. Someone wasn't doing their job correctly and they already promised something in a contract that they could not follow thru with. I'll be honest...I probably wouldn't have even swallowed the $200+ difference because, again, you was told it could be done, plus you already paid with a contract in place. You're being nice already by taking care of the difference but please stand firm on the other fee. That is their responsibility. Their mistake, their fee to pay. They could always hang on to it and sell it to another customer possibly. White quartz is something a lot of people like.

That dream thing is so funny! I probably would not have admitted this if you hadn't confessed, but I actually had a dream last night that I named a new hosta! Geez, I just wish I could remember the name I gave it. LOL!

You might want to check a few pages back on the forum for the posting asking about a 12 step program. You are probably on step 2 or 3 of the second (slightly more serious) program I wrote in response to the original post. Please keep in mind that it's not our fault!!! Oh, alright, it is partly our fault, but keep in mind that we are not responsible!

In my dream, there was a drawer with hosta in it at a rummage sale. They were tiny yet bushy with long roots, 10 cents each and were labeled 'Wagging Tails'. They were bundled up like green onions in rubber bands! Isn't that crazy?

I had my first dream aobut hostas last night. I dreamt that Jim, from Jims Hostas, was out digging up hostas from my yard. Like I have any that he doesn't! And I don't even know what Jim looks like, but he told me he was Jim. So who else could it have been? LOL

Nice Haul iowa_flower_nut.. I didn't have much will power and kept walking out of the vending rooms with a arm load of plants. I bought so many hostas I can't even recall all I bought now loll.. Some great plants were at the vendors, that's for sure..

Hostasgalore- How many rooms of vendors were there? I actually only went through one room (next to the cut leaf room) at the end and the hall next to it. I had my 17 year old son (plant carrier) with me and he had his fill of lots of people in close quarters. I have a feeling that I missed some. We did do alot of drooling!
Ha! May have missed some there but I added a Clifford's Stingray to my new stash yesterday. ; )

Sorry for sounding misleading.. It was the same area you seen and I was including the hallway as a actual room.. I know I walked to the truck at least 6 times lol.. I should've been doing more drooling but I was doing more buying instead lol
