Where did you buy it? I know that Sears, if you bought their master protection agreement, will repair cosmetic damage within the first three years. My guys ruined the toe kick on my Electrolux fridge and because I bought the plan, they are sending me a replacement.

Can you call the place from which you purchased it? They might have some good ideas. Also, I have found Electrolux customer service to be helpful.

Hope you can get it patched! If you can't get it fixed under warranty, if it's glossy you can always take the door to an auto parts store and find touchup paint to match....that won't look weird at all, carrying an oven door around!

Bought it from Abt. It is glossy like car paint. It's not the door. That I had removed. Just the edge of the knob panel in the front. I am going to call Electrolux. And Abt. Otherwise, use one of those roller tip appliance touch up pens from HD/ Lowes and get it over with and move on to the COOKING I've been dying to do!! It is just a scratch the size of a thin felt tip pen line about 3/4" long. Before this I survived four years with a 20" range!

When you apply the touch-up paint remember less is more.

The paint pen tip is likely to be to wide, covering more area than needed. depending on the pen type, you may be able to get the paint to the tip of a toothpick and use a " dot dot dot' proceedure for aplication rather than rolling the too wide tip across it.

You may also try to mask the area beforehand to prevent an,

oops.

Put a small amount on at one time and re-coat if needed while the paint is still tacky.

Thanks John and others. That's what I've been thinking too. To mask the area up to the scratch, and use a small art brush. Maybe use an oil based primer first. And use several light coats of the cover paint rather than one glob.
I was wondering if I should mask heavily and use a high heat oil based white paint from spray can, but that cure might be worse than the disease. The area of the scratch might be prone to some heat from the oven since it is located right above the door.
Would it help to dry it with a heatgun carefully on a low setting? Sort of simulate the enamel baking process?
I am also calling Electrolux tomorrow, but their warranty does not cover cosmetic damage, I read. Maybe they can send me the exact touch-up paint though and tell me what to do.

Electrolux sent me a new metal panel by Fedex Next Day. I needed the metal panel on which the knobs were located.The authorized tech will come and install it in a few days. Covered by warranty. They didn't ask many questions.
Incidentally, when the panel did not arrive last week when scheduled, I called them and they reordered it saying there must have been some confusion. I received it last week.
But, to my surprise, two days ago, I got a second package with the electronic wave touch control panel that is located on the top of the range (albeit with a small plastic tab broken off in transit I suppose). They must have misunderstood the part I wanted the second time. So, in case my electronics ever get fried I now have a free spare. I just have to glue the broken tab back on.

Wow!!! Good to know that Elecrolux has such a great customer service. Samsung would not cover cosmetic damage. I bought Samsung fridge and the "Samsung" logo came off sticking out on one side of the fridge door and could not be pushed back on. Unfortunately, Samsung customer service said that their warranty does not cover cosmetic items.
