Here we go! This is the 5th season of swapping. Please email me your wish for the first swap which will be on May 1st this year. Let's hope for drier swaps this year!

Where? 253 Warren Wright Rd. Belchertown, MA 01007

When? *On first and third Tuesday, May through September unless otherwise noted

May 1, May 15

June 5, June 19

July *5 Thursday, July 17

August 7, August 21

September 4, September 18

6:00pm arrival/prep, 6:15 plant swapping begins (usually done by 7:30) Rain or Shine.

What to Bring? Perennials, annuals, vegetables, herbs, cuttings, fresh cut flowers, bulbs, seeds, etc.

$1.00 dues to cover costs- including a drawing for a plant. Bring a box or bucket in which to bring home your plants.

How Does This Work? At 6:00 people will arrive with their items to swap. The items will be placed on the

ground in the area where weÂll sit. You may want to bring a chair in case there are not enough. At 6:15

weÂll name off all of the items to be swapped. It is very helpful if the items are labeled. Many bring shopping

bags or buckets with freshly dug plants labeled with the plant name. ItÂs not necessary to pot the plants youÂll

bring- but you should try to keep the roots from drying out. YOU CAN BRING AS MANY OR AS FEW PLANTS

AS YOUÂD LIKE. SOME GARDENERS ARE JUST STARTING AND MAY NOT HAVE ANYTHING TO

SWAP. THAT IS OK! Many seasoned gardeners have more than enough to share and would rather

give them away than throw them in the compost. There are many plants that do poorly unless they are

divided regularly (irises, daisies, phlox, etc.) This is a great way to trade them for plants you may not have.

As soon as all of the plants are named people will be told to take their first pick. Each pick is a plant, not a full

container. The first pick is offered to those who have brought an item from the "Wish List" that is kept of

swappers wishes. Even if the person who wanted the plant is not there, if you brought a wish list item then

you can be part of the first pick. If you are the recipient of a wish list plant then that is considered your first pick.

After everyone is done people will step back and then the second round will begin. Everyone is included in this

round and all of the rest of the picks. This will be repeated as long as there are items left. It doesnÂt matter

how many plants you bring. Everyone will have the same number of "picks". You may leave with

a couple plants or with many depending on the contributions that week. WeÂll finish with a raffle for a beautiful

plant.

Other Notes: No dogs or smoking please. If you bring children try to make sure they are not disruptive.

Parking will be along Warren Wright Rd. - please be careful not to block the road or my neighbors driveways.

Feel free to spread the word, everyone is welcome.

Come a little early if youÂd like to browse through my gardens.
