I like them both....

They're quite different though. I think Stained Glass has a "glow" to it. And Guacamole is a little dull in color, but the leaves are an interesting texture.

I like stained glass better....but then perhaps it's the location. The edge is more pronounced.
Frankly I am not crazy about guac....it's very fragile. Iw as pulling out a weed next to it yesterday and the weed got tangled in the hosta and the leaf tore. It's very limp....huge! Bright green!...but the leaves lack substance.

Thanks to you both. Stained Glass is on my wish list. If Guacamole is that fragile, it probably wouldn't do well in my hot Texas summers...even in the shade.

Stained Glass is a sport of Guacamole...it's not tetraploid, so they should be identical in leaf substance.

If any hosta will tolerate Texas heat, it would be these two (and the others in the family), since they have plantaginea genes in them.

I loooooooooooove Guacamole. One of the few that I have duplicates of. I like SG, but far prefer my Guac.

I have both...and love them both. I have 3 Guacamoles and don't find a one of them fragile. In fact one, was chomped on by deer a couple of times and keeps on "truckin'".

Here's a photo of them together with Guacamole (afore mentioned "deer chomped Guac") on the left and Stained Glass on the right (back row in front of the bee balm). How can you take one over the other? They're both beautiful, the leaf shape is similar. They differ in color, yes. If you don't like yellow, go with Guacamole which has beautiful shades of green. However, Stained Glass shines like a beacon!

I like them both. As Josh mentioned they have planteginia and those hostas do well in the south. I also like Tortilla Chip in the same family. It is a solid gold and has been a good grower for me. All of them have fragrant flowers.

I got Cathedral Windows this year, and it is a beauty. Better than the other two, I believe.

I have 4 Guacamoles and one Stained Glass.
I also have a Holy Mole, which is in the same family....and it's my favorite by far!

I have both, and like Stained Glass much better. Guacamole is a vigorous grower, but it is just "eh" looking to me.
In fact, if anyone has interesting trades, I'll provide a generous division!

I like both too. I also have Cathedral Windows but I forgot to take a pic of it. Looks just like Holy Mole, shiny leaves with a wide green margin. Anyhow, here are my pics of Guacamole and Stained Glass. Both are grown in mostly shade, receiving dappled shade in the morning and very late evening shade. It was cloudy this afternoon so the Stained Glass isn't as bright as it would normally look.
