I love this family too and have received an email from Hosta Fever to say that I can pick up the rest of my order, which she was able to fill...still waiting on a couple. You ready? My sister's name was Mary and she passed away in 2002 from a 10-yr battle with breast cancer. This hosta is a memorial hosta for me. :-) RASCAL (also sold out last year) RHINO HIDE (just have to have a Don Rawson hosta!) Still awaiting notification on Squash Casserole (for Mocc of course, who else? Lol) and Dark Shadows. Neptune also crept in after seeing Myrle post her absolutely sublime Neptune today (yesterday now). That woman sure knows how to grow them and present them in fine form in pictures. I have to see if Hosta Fever has that one. If so, it's coming home too! :-) Funnthsun, you make me smile, chuckle and laugh right out loud, sometimes all those at the same time! 300 or more hostas you say? Oh my, and they sure look like they like it where they are! Kudos. P.S. I snuck in some retail hosta therapy while out earlier. Another Diana Remembered because the first one got sunburned (she is temporary in hiding till she flushes new leaves); and a REAL Abiqua Drinking Gourd because the one I got weeks ago is quite lovely, but looks more like another Blue Angel. I could be wrong, but there is no cupping going on at all and leaves are convex. :-)

I have both...and love them both. I have 3 Guacamoles and don't find a one of them fragile. In fact one, was chomped on by deer a couple of times and keeps on "truckin'". Here's a photo of them together with Guacamole (afore mentioned "deer chomped Guac") on the left and Stained Glass on the right (back row in front of the bee balm). How can you take one over the other? They're both beautiful, the leaf shape is similar. They differ in color, yes. If you don't like yellow, go with Guacamole which has beautiful shades of green. However, Stained Glass shines like a beacon! Char

DON THANK YOU SO MUCH... I missed the whole thread for sure. And I see it is best to start at the top and try to reach the bottom. And Don, I think you previously mntioned PEZ candies, which I looked up and then ordered a bag/box of. My goodness, fella, my hosta don't smell that much! However, on a late summer afternoon approaching 6pm or maybe 7pm, you can catch the beginning of the fragrance as the major fragrant players begin to open for the evening. I sat in the garden several times last year from that time until full dark. I even took photos of Doubled Up and Mama as they both had blooms opening the same nights. Not good photography, but indeed they are night bloomers. So the scent is stronger in the evening, and less so the next morning. I'll have to cluster my Guac family together a bit more....to see if they share a common aroma. I'm headed for bed early these days....hope this house remodel is over before the hosta awaken.
