To divide young hosta now or wait until spring

I have just purchased a young 'Liberty' that has 4 distinct eyes that I plan to divide and share with a daughter (garden helper #1a). I have generally gotten faster growth by potting young hostas for overwintering and putting them in the ground the next spring. But this presents me with a dilemma regarding my Liberty. I assume it is like its parent, Sagae, in being slow to develop and prone to being set back when moved as a maturing plant.

So my question is, which would work the best: a) Divide it now and pot the 2-eyed divisions for overwintering and planting them in spring or b) Pot the 4-eyed plant for overwinteriing and divide it in the spring before planting in the ground?
