Three new last year, one failing. Your opinion?

Last year I planted three fragrant hostas from Bluestone: Guacamole, Fragrant Bouquet, and Guardian Angel. The first two came back beautifully, and have really grown this spring--I'm impressed! But Guardian Angel is a mess.

At first I didn't think it had even survived; I bought a different hosta (Paradigm) to replace it. But when I went to plant it I discovered GA was still there, sort of. It consists of a little clump of chewed leaves. I have other hostas in that area as well, and none were eaten except for GA. Would a critter single it out like that? Or do you think it could be diseased?

This photo looks like the plant is surrounded by a lot of grass. The plant is very small, and the grass is tiny. Some of it is lawnmower discharge.

Your thoughts are appreciated!
