Was going to offer a trade ! then I see WHO posted ! Not!! Still waiting for the Iris I sent you postage for.

Timely question - We're building and though I planned for 2 pedestal sinks in the smallish master bath all along, after our last visit to the site my husband suggested we nix one of the sinks and put in a large cabinet in its stead. He noted that we would rarely use both sinks at the same time and that instead of a narrow cabinet between them, we'd have more room on the top and more storage in a larger cab. There's logic in his argument, but I don't want to give up that second sink. Like some noted above, it's a personal preference, but I like having my own sink and knowing that it will be left the way I cleaned it until the next time I use it. Also, even though we rarely share the bathroom space, when we do it's usually when we really have to rush, and I would not want to be without a sink and mirror in those cases. Seeing your question made me more certain about standing my ground in this decision. Thanks, and good luck with your decision!

I like Marcolo's idea of switching the closet and adding the cubbies! Here's that option, but I kept a small table for crafts, snacks, breakfast, etc. You said you like to watch the kids out that window, but a setee would look very nice, too. While an island is very nice (and popular) I thought I'd leave the wall (perhaps load bearing?) and make the kitchen easily accessible from both tables. And you still have a little more 'formal' feel in the big dining room. By having the French doors opening into the kitchen, you have the option of closing off the noise...but still seeing the main sink (maybe farmhouse?) and possible 'buffet area' opposite the French doors. I added the extra sink by the fridge, so you have one sink/prep area to the left of the range and another baking area on the right. The dishwasher could go by either sink (or both) but if you have one opposite the French doors, cabinet front or drawer dishwasher might be a nice option. Glad you were able to recreate your space. One thought on that "dead" overhead cabinet: If you drilled a 6" hole in the front of the cabinet below the rod -- halfway between the rod and the bottom of the cabinet -- that could be a great space to store used grocery bags you are saving to recycle as trash bags. Sierra Pacific windows…help, please! Why does the glass look "green"?

My problem is that I loved our custom made plantation shutters in our front window until the green windows happened. I leave the shutters open now, have taupe curtains hanging in the windows between them, and I’m on the fence about taking down the shutters. I’m still mad. And to add to my anger, we had a “new” window hire at Lowe’s (we discovered was fired months later) who insisted we could only get new Pella 350 in equal halves instead of the larger size on the upper window, replacing exacwhat we had. This changed the look of our beautiful custom shutters, which no longer were set at the proper position of the openings for the new windows. UGH!!!!!!!! Sorry for venting….

There is a Rate and Review forum on Gardenweb where you may air your grievances regarding a bad exchange publicly. This helps others make informed decisions as to whether to trade or not. I am not aware of people being banned for posting on the Rate and Review forum.

I kind of like it! It reminds me of a churned up sea or choppy ocean. Then again, we all have our own taste, and what one of us loves, another might hate. We're all entitled to our opinions :)
