Why did my transplanted basil wilt and can I still save it?

Hey everyone, I've seen similar questions to mine, but no answers to my specific issue so I thought I'd put my question out there. I bought hydroponic basil at whole foods about 6 weeks back. I've kept it in water, and it has grown tremendously. My boyfriend also grows herbs and also thought it would be a good idea to transfer it to soil, which I did last night. I bought a much larger pot than it needs and used two kinds of soil, an organic one that has enough nutrients to feed for two months, and a moisture control one to prevent under- and over-watering. However I just checked up on it and the whole plant has wilted! Should I move it back to water or is there any way to help my beautiful basil plant live?? Please let me know if anyone has any clue on what to do. I would appreciate any help. Thanks in advance!
