Try these springtime stars for a bolt of blue, especially where you've got a dry spot in the garden
Full StoryThis was my Nikko's first winter. I planted it in full sun in a raised bed near my house. It is not in a very sheltered area though. The story is that in the middle of winter in WI we had a warm spell of like 60 for a couple days. My Nikko started to bud. I remember thinking I hope it doesn't get killed when it gets cold again, but I didn't do anything. Well, in the spring it has looked pretty dry & dead. So I was going to trim the dead looking branches in hopes that new growth would come from the base. So I pruned off an inch or two from a few. The area around the bark seemed to still be green so I stopped. Then it got kind of cold again, joy of living in WI and even the green that was coming from the roots turned brown again. Well anyway, I still doesn't seem to be having any new growth and it is almost the end of May. Is it dead or should I wait longer before I try to replace it? Sorry, for the long story.
