I enjoy all your great comments! THANKS so much for taking the time to let me know you enjoyed my photos. Cindy, I have trees everywhere! In fact, the only spots in my yard in full-sun are the long borders by the road. Every place else my flowers compete with the shade from trees. I don't have the money or means to have so many trees taken down since my 1 acre lot was all woodland at one point and there are still many huge trees about. Obviously it would be ideal to have more sun but surprisingly my flowers do exceptionally well with dappled shade most of the day and about 3-4 hrs. of full sun. Rena, your comments had me giggling. I am so happy I don't have to deal with snakes here. I have only seen one snake in the past few years and it was just a harmless garter snake. But it was enough to make me jump! When I lived in south Georgia as a kid I remember always freaking out with all the poisonous snakes everywhere....so glad we don't have those kinds here. Avedon, So great to hear from you!! I always enjoy chatting with you here. I am going to get even busier than I already am. My second grandson was just born and now my oldest daughter is pregnant & due in early June. She lives with us (unexpected pregnancy and she will be a single mom) which means more baby duty than ever! So with Mom and 3 grandbabies to look after I hope I have time for all my gardens...(and my housework). Jean, you know I will post more for you from my photo vault because you are always so appreciative! I took so many photos last summer but didn't have the time to post all of them. I don't know if I can keep up with posting this summer what with the 3 grandbabies and my Mom to take care of, so I'm trying to put up as many photos as I can now. Winter is such a long & dreary season, especially up here in the north and I won't have roses til June or daylilies until July. Photos help beat the blues we all have this time of year. Thanks Rita. Pickles did a good job on that one... Kay, lana Ishee was a blooming machine this year. very prolific.. Avedon, I agree about Kevin Walek. it's a pretty single bloom.. njmomma, Junzi didn't bloom for me the first year either. It may take a little longer to settle in... I don't know Mantis. maybe some of our northern friends can tell us.. I'm from Michigan, myself but didn't grow daylilies until I moved south.. Christine, I don't like anything about Let Love Rejoice except the size. I do have some bi-colors that I like but not this one.. JS is always really white here. My pictures are all very early morning! Thanks Linda. I have a few in my garden that will be leaving but mostly ( is that a word?) I like them all.. crackingtheconcrete, you gave me a chuckle.. That's one of the things that attracted me to JN..aside from it's beauty of course.. Debra, Lana Ishee was a beautiful clump this year. I feel like there is less and less for all of us to share this time of year, so I try to find things to post so we can all keep talking... I miss all the daily sharing of pictures and conversation. gonegardening...Yes, DH does yoga as well. He was really enjoying his quiet time there by the lake, it was so serene. Kay, Jean & Judy... Yes, Irish Hope is very beautiful but it is probably on it's last season here. It barely survives my winters and is a magnet for japanese beetles. I hate to see it go, but I rarely see a bloom without beetle damage. I hate shovelpruning something so pretty! Cindy, I thought the same thing, that the red leaf in the golden ferns was kinda neat. Sometimes simple things make good subjects. CTC, the Prairie Sun rudbeckias re-seed themselves each year. I like the green centers too, because it sets it apart from other rudbeckias. Linda, Rita, Ellie, Ginny, Nancy...thank you! Fall is my most favorite season but it is also the shortest. If only I could swap it around with winter, and make Fall the longest...LOL. Celeste

I guess I'm lucky that I've always had an eye for design and detail and find it easy to visualize what I want. I found looking over home magazines, helped me develop a sense of style . Going to estate sales and auctions, has given me an opportunity to see many beautiful homes and furnishings. For those who are unable to do those things, this site is a great opportuniy for helpful advice, and it's so interesting to see what others have done too. jane jane
