Full StoryHi Folks,
I just finished canning a batch of the Berry-Wine Jelly from the Bernardin (Ball) Complete book of Home Preserving (pg. 123).
The recipe states "Makes about six 4-ounce (125 mL) jars". After following the recipe (and measures) to a T, I ended up with ten 125 mL jars?
OK 4 ounces does not equal 125 mL but even after I calculate the Imperial vs. Metric volume, I should have a yield of roughly six jars.
Does anyone have any experience with this recipe? If so, do you also get a roughly 60% higher yield that stated in the recipe?
The batch will be coming out of the BWB in two minutes. I happy to have more jars (as long as they set up properly) but I am curious as to why the significant deviation from the recipe.
