Re-freezing turkey

Hi all,

I posted this on the Cooking forum too, but thought I'd get a different perspective here. We were going to have our Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow (Sunday) and have seeveral people over. However, DH now has some GI illness and I am not comfortable having people over - I fell quite certain this is a contagious illness.

My turkey is partially thawed. It spent most of yesterday at room temperature (I know, I know that's a no-no) but otherwise has been in the frig. I think the interior is still frozen. Can I refreeze it to use at Christmas? Will that compromise either safety or taste or both?

Thanks,

Ann
