Walked into Lowes garden shop today and they said all the clearance plants you can put on a rack (yup the 4 layer wheelie type) for $20.

I got 5 milkweed, 12 Potter weed, 3 blue sage, 6 flats of grass plugs,1 huge mum, 12 - 1 gal yellow mums, and 5 large impatients in decorative pots. I could have gotten more but that was all my car could hold.

Nice Haul! Don't you love Lowes clearance? You'd think HD would figure it why we don't go there as often. duh.

The seller delivered it tonight. He knocked $25 off because I thought the rear tires needed tubes or Slime. They aren't flat, but have a slow leak. Man, those L118 rear tires are WIDE! I learned that he bought it form the JD dealer instead of the big-box store, and that he bought the service plan from them. The dealer did all the service for the first 3 years. It is in excellent condition, with minor scuffs on the body. It runs like a sewing machine. The 20HP V-Twin feels stout when running the 42-inch deck. I LOVE IT!!! I love this L118!

Good for you starryder.
Wal-mart leaves the plants until they look dead and they they put them in the bin! I once got about 20 plants from the bin from free.. Mostly because my brain was saying : we cannot throw all that good soil away. The plants lived for about year and were simply beautiful.

I visit that back rack all the time. I have made friends with the garden workers at Lowe's and they have let me know when something is headed out there. All my orchids (57) came from clearance racks and quite a few other plants I may not have tried. A word of caution tho: One woman got quite aggressive with me on a $2 sale for Tropicana Cannas. Hey I was loading as fast as I could.
