Janice and I went today and enjoyed the bounty and beauty of all the plants. I bought 3 Hoya's and pitcher plant. Janice was looking for some bromilaids and she also got a mango tree. We both ended up with some other plants as well and are thinking we might go back tomorrow. The prices,vendors,and weather as well as viewing the gardens as well worth it!

Well, doesn't that make me mad !! lol Got up yesterday and it was pouring rain so decided not to go.lol
Wanted to get some Citrus trees with actual labels on them unlike the box stores.
I have been rather disappointed with the sales over the last couple of years as I'm always looking for small cuttings of epiphytes ,mostly orchids. While they had big beautiful ,full grown plants not much in the cheap types lol..
In the past I've ordered through the various websites and picked them up there to avoid shipping charges but didn't get around to it this year.
Guess I will go today . Watch, it won't rain a drop here while in WPB it will be the deluge of the century lol.
I'm looking for some oddball epiphytes for my new hanging gardens experiment but I'm not too opptomistic. "Oddbal" and cheap just don't fit together usually but we'll see gary

I'd love to go too. I really want a white bat, and a green one too if they have it. But it is raining again here this morning pretty hard and it's a hours ride for me. Maybe I'll just wait for Heathcote's sale at the end of the month. But last time I came home with a car load of wonderful plants. :o) What to do?

Since it is the duty of all gardenwebbers to enable - I say take an umbrella and go! Sun is shining and I checked weather underground and except for a few light showers north of WPB it looks like a great day for a walk in the park and lots of shopping!! I'm even thinking of going back.

Well I broke down and went Sunday morning and no rain!!
Spent a lot more money than I intended as usual but DID NOT buy a single orchid lol, Usually I run out of money before I get past those vendors lol.
Got a gigantic white bat plant and two species of selaginella that I have never see at all.!!

Well, I had a fabulous day yesterday! I got some real nice goodies! Black stemmed caladiums,some new for me hoyas,
3 different kinds of crotons (My new addiction is now full blown - Thanks Ricky!),some herbs and a little beauty,Sweet almond tree, it smells wonderful! I can't wait for it to get bigger.
There were so many venders! I drooled all day! I saw lots of bat flowers, epiphytes, pitcher plants, broms, orchids, it goes on and on!
Did anyone check out the vegetable garden? It looks like veggies on steroids! While we were admiring it all, we met one of the Extension agents. He gave us a tour of the shade/mist house and gave us a flat full of veggies! They have a great irrigation set-up.
All in all, just a great day! - Sharon

Well, we had such a nice time the day before we decided to go back again yesterday! We picked up another barbados cherry as family, friends and dogs don't seem to think there are ever enough and the trees were so nice looking. Also picked up a jujube (indian thornless).

Also picked up a small Sweet Almond - Like Sharon, once I smelled it I was hooked - and it is pretty!

It was really a nice weekend to be outside and what better place to be than a botanical garden! Then we came home and I repotted everything to buy some time to plant!
