That's a hosta...a green one...one of about 5,000 named green cultivars. Or 25,000 green unamed cultivars. But it's the green one, so that narrows it down! My guess is that it's Amber Tiara, Gold Edger (Aden 78), Vanilla Cream (Aden 86), or Little Aurora (Aden 78). Take a few leaves to someone else's garden and compare. Hope that helps, Don

It looks exactly like my hostas that were id'd as gold edgers last week. I even call mine "the little guys" too (I have several as it's been divided at least twice).

I have lots of gold edger....it makes a pretty big clump pretty fast.

These "little guys' are extremely slow growing. They have been in 85% shade at least 10 years. I finally moved them the other day into pretty much full sun to see if maybe they just weren't happy.

Sally, following up on Ken's post, I believe the all gold version of Golden Tiara is Golden Scepter. I got "a little guy" the other day from a friend who also did not know its name. I investigated on line and in the Encyclopedia and came up with Golden Scepter. Yours might be the same. Lois

If they are the same as mine, they'll never get big. They're small hostas with a mature clump size of 11 x 7". I have 2 in the front that get full sun from about 1:00 pm on and both are smaller than the 1 I have in back that gets shade most of the day. All of them were put in on the same day last year, after having been moved from my old home and divided. Maybe it's because there's great dirt in back due to the crazy composting guy who happens to live here also... not that I'm complaining.

Little Aurora, Golden Prayers (which were mixed up in the trade). Compare it with Just So, which has the closest leaf shape.
Similar are Sultana and Little Sunspot. Those three are variegated types.

Dave, I think you may on to something...I should have mentioned that the leaves have a heavy substance almost tokudama like. Not knowing the names drives me crazy!!!
I've seached the hosta library, but that's like a needle in a haystack.
