'Cannable ' Seed Swap

Hello everyone,

It's been a while since I posted over here. I have been active in a new group on the Round Robin Exchange that exchanges seeds for edible plants. We call ourselves "Incredible Edibles."

Anyway, our theme for November is "Cannables." It's a seed and recipe swap for those things that are "cannable." Come check us out and join the fun! Please check the link below.

Neat idea, Boo! ;)

But from what I read on the discussion there, it sounds like LOTS of misinformed, new, or very inexperienced canners are participating. Sure hope they know to trade only approved recipes, not Sister Susie's or recipezaar.com.

And I hope they also know about National Center for Home Food Preservation and the safety guidelines and all the canning info provided there. I thought about posting a link to it but was afraid it wouldn't go over too well coming from an outsider. ;)

Third Annual Not From the Seed Rack Seed Swap open for members

Over 1200 different seed types have been added to the swap catalog and there are still 5-6 weeks for more additions. Also, there is still room in the swap for up to 43 more players. Dave, I don't think you should be shy about posting the NCHFP Canning Guidelines. In fact, I think it's a really good idea. I've been trying to encourage people to ask questions over here; take out a copy of the Ball Blue Book from their local libray; and look at Ball's website. It's better to educate people the right way when they're newbies than to break bad habits.
