if you could change the hosta forum's hosta photo...

...to any hosta you'd like, which hosta do you think could replace the current photo.

I admit, that the hosta forum photo seems lame to me, given all the beautiful and stunning photos available.

I wonder if it could be changed? (Or is it just me?)

I HATE that pic. Couldn't be more ordinary!

I'd go with something with a dark green center, light green margin.... So many to choose from meeting that description!

When Papou passed away, I sent a message to the GW Powers That Be, suggesting that the photo be replaced with 'Liberty.'

No response.

Josephines67, if you stick with us, your screen name will be out of date in no time! More like 100 would be realistic. :) Welcome to the forum. Join in the fun. Do not hesitate to begin your own thread. It is the normal routine. More people will know you're here if you introduce yourself with a separate post, especially the other Canadians among us. Two ways of posting photos. First is the GardenWeb way, by using the "Image file to upload" box at the top of the posting window. You click the "Browse" and look for a single picture on your computer. Me LOVE pictures....we are all Picture Monsters. The other way is to create a photo account (free is good) at Flickr, Photobucket, etc, but they must give you the HTML CODE which is what you copy/paste into the post. Can't find it? Then someone will help you find its location. With this method, you may upload multiple images, not just one. Look forward to seeing your garden and your hosta. Have fun.

Andy - I have posted an apology in the - has anybody bought from Contrary Mary's posting and will repeat it here. As soon as I hit the submit button I regretted it. My apologies to you Andy! I am not a long time forum member, nor am I a cliqueish (how in the world is that word spelled?) person - nor is Hosta forum such a group of people. I was unusually tactless in how I responded and this usually is not my nature. I can be a bit of a "pot stirrer" at times but it is in the interest to stimulate others opinions being expressed (which certainly happened in this case) and not done with malice. I also apologize to Mary. I have no idea why she calls herself contrary. There is absolutely no connection between her and the course the two threads had taken, which largely rests squarely on my shoulders. She is doing a very fine job in her business and is a very nice and friendly person. Thank you all very much for the warm welcome to the forum! I knew that I will get help here. Ken, no you are not scary. I was not posting in the forum because I usually was able to find answer to my question in forum archives. But from now on I will participate in here more actively. I admire people's attitude and knowledge on the forum. Here in Sweden there is no Hosta Society and no place to discuss hostas. So I'm very glad to find enthusiastic group of hosta fans on the other side of the ocean. Chris, ademink, Corrine and Gesila, thank you for IDing my plant! Gesila, great photos, your plant looks exactly like mine. The same habit and coloring. Have to wait for the flowering to confirm the final ID. I have another question. When shall we have the hosta alphabet for year 2011? Alphabet threads are some of my favorites on the forum...

Aw, Don - so sorry! They were all beautiful last year. :(. Are they all completely goners or are there any viable pieces that can be salvaged? It must be that kind of a day today... I feel for you - you must be so disappointed yet you found humour with your pun! Coincidentally, as I was counting pips, I happened to pull on a few on my potted Fire and Ice just to test their sturdiness. Much to my dismay, I pulled five out of ten perfect looking pips off! Rotted underneath. Pips came up on last year's stored energy, but that was about it! Bummer. There are only a couple sturdy pips remaining. I have to clean the plant (large) tomorrow and see if I can salvage remaining pips. It was a beauty! Must have been water logged and froze that way.? If it's a goner, I am lucky it's the only one! Maybe. Key West hasn't poked up yet. While you are recounting, add in the replacements/new ones right away! No time for sadness - time for retail therapy! ;-).

Liberty would be a good one. I only seem to look at the pic when someone brings it up in a post.

I second and third the "Liberty". A beautiful hosta. Just moved mine to a more prominent location!

I like Liberty... I'd go with June, or maybe Touch of Class... possibly Guardian Angel - check out the new AHS Journal cover... I remember we've had this discussion a number of times over the years and nobody I know has ever gotten a response from "management."

Hey, maybe if we ALL e-mailed at once, like writing our legislators before the Health Care Reform vote.

Does any one have a picture that we could "donate" to the cause? Each of us could copy and paste the same image into the e-mail request.

Considering the way this website seems to get hacked so often and nobody seems able to fix it, I wonder if any of the "powers that be" would even know how to change the picture... They sure know how to fill the pages with advertising and popups and other junk though.

I was going to say Liberty too! That is by far...in my top ten :) It changes from day to day but is defifinitly a fav. I wish I had more room to plant more!

I'd like to defend Mountain Snow. The picture on the website is pretty nondescript, but I think that a mature Mountain Snow is really beautiful. Mine is only in its fifth year, but it's beginning to show its potential.
