Agressive bees question?

SaintPFLA

I have two big pots with a mix of salvia and purple something that looks like a salvia-snapdragon combo (sorry, can't remember the name...it's a common plant). The bees are going nutts over it.

I have a few types of bees in my yard. The 'normal' bees and then a half-dozen or so of these more 'agressive' bees. When I walk near the salvia mix plants, they actually have chased me away!

They are very agressive and I've never had this happen before. I wasn't even touching the plants...merely a few feet away. This has happened a few times where I now wait until late in the day to water and check as to where the bees are.

Any idea if I should be concerned as to if these could be African bees? Or, are they just agressive honey bees? I do know that many of the Florida bees now have bred with the African bees.

They are small-ish and have big, fat black back legs and prominent black stripes.
