It seems a good bet that where Monsanto hasn't infiltrated or intimidated to obtain control, they've simply bought the company or the person. Their greed grows exponentially. Where are the whistle blowers? Where is America's backbone?? cora

Yeah and where are the anti-monopolists that went after Microsoft with such vigor. This looks outrageous and scary on the surface at least.

$ and greed is what this country seems to value at the top these days. Had hoped it would change some with this administration , but not sure it has had the least impact on this type operation.

Miranda, thanks for posting this. Although I didn't like facing the reality, I needed to be reminded again of what a monster Monsanto is and how they are affecting all of us and our loved ones. Have you checked out the Wikipedia blurb on this company? And it's just a small commentary. I think the only answer is for the consumer to take it into their own hands. If we really want to make an impact, we really need to do our homework and figure out if it is important enough for us to think about solely patronizing our own local organic farms for our produce (i.e. farmer's markets), and boycotting companies that are owned by monsanto. We all know that unfortunately, it's all about money and that money will control our politicians, and therefore our policies. I am going to try to see if I can find lists of companies or even products that we can at least be aware belong to Monsanto. I will start with a list of seed companies that buy some or all their seeds from Monsanto:

This year I bought some of my seeds from burpee and park seed. I have bought from Tomato Grower's supply in the past. No more for me. No more roundup for me.

Let's see what companies or products we can find. Anyone game? Just so we can at least make educated choices.

I found another comment that says at least some of those companies are not supplied by monsanto, so let me try to repair my damage and see if I can find out the truth. I give up! There is no way to get reliable info on the internet. It seems that some of the above companies may buy some of their seeds from Seminis, a seed company which is now owned by monsanto. But which companies and which hybrids? I don't think any of these companies are actually owned by monsanto, though, just may buy some seeds from them. It also seems that the home gardening market does not contain the transgenic (GMO) seeds. I guess the only way to make sure not to buy monsanto seeds is to go with heirloom and open-pollinated varieties? I just don't really know.

I want to look more into this, but not tonight because I'm tired from working all day. I have heard that GMO foods are not allowed to be sold fresh to consumers yet. I have also heard that home gardeners cannot purchase GMO seeds(thank goodness!) I do plan to buy hybrid seeds from whatever comany I decide. I do fear that these products are being used in everyday foods like cornflakes and other staple foods hidden away with consumers unaware.

Great Video, thank you for posting it here! When we buy seeds, it should be from a company who refuses this type of technology in their products. Seeds of Change and Pinetree garden seeds are two that come to mind. I am going to ask Gardens Alive if they are affiliated in any way with Monsanto, and take the answer with a grain of salt. But it is our own government who is half owners of the suicide technology, so it is even more important to research the candidates and vote in elections.
We still have discretionary buying power, as consumers.

I bought my seeds from Harris Seeds in Rochester NY. I hope they are not included on the list...
