Freezing 'Frenched' green beans?

My son is fond of the "Frenched" style of green beans, where the bean is sliced more or less lengthwise into thin strips. We have that little hand cranked machine, but we usually do this and cook them fresh. I'd like to freeze some.

Should I blanche the beans before slicing? Afterwards? Just pop them in a freezer bag and not worry about it?
