North/Central FL Wildflower lovers - need a plant i.d.

There is a shrub blooming now that has flowers indentical to Evening Primrose. It's growing on the margins of the pond, but it also comes up in other places around the apartment complex. The flowers are definitely Oenothera flowers, but the leaves are much larger. It seems to be quite invasive, and only blooms in full sun, if I am to judge by the flowerless plant under the pine trees. It is over 6 feet tall, and has a reddish-brown bark.

I would send a picture, but my batteries are dead in my camera. I will have new batteries tomorrow, but thought since it's blooming now, someone might recognize the description.
