Some of my last year seedlings are still blooming or reblooming. Hope you enjoy

Oh my, you're very lucky to have such beautiful seedlings blooming. My favs are #1,3, and 5 in that order. Thanks ever so much for sharing them with us.

Thank you all. Wings of Angels looks promising, especially in the front of the bed. Lycean is on its rebloom, and has a heftier substance. I am also very excited about Peggy Jeffcoat, once it's settled. This is their first season's bloom in the yard. Thanks everyone for the nice comments on the seedlings. I'm trying to get some late ones so I've been pleased to see them still blooming. All but the last one still have at least one more bud. Rita, I know you like the yellow/gold ones. Nancy, my Indy Rhapsody is about done too. This might have been the last bloom--either last or next to last. I'm very pleased with seedling number 4. It's a first year seedling and keeps looking better every time it blooms. Seedling #3 is a second year and I'm amazed that it had two scapes on one fan and a decent bud count. None of its siblings were nearly as good. maryl and Rita, seedling 1 is a second year seedling and I really didn't remember it from last year, but this year it has very good branching and bud count. Hope it continues. avedon, Elegant Finale is one of my favorite lates. It's well named. It does look elegant and has good branching and bud count. Kay, I love red too and Indy Rhapsody is a beautiful shade of red. It's way taller than its registered height though so I need to move it out of the front row! Val

Julia, Almost all the seedlings I've posted this year have been from seeds harvested in summer of 2007 and started under lights in Dec. and Jan. of 2008. Some bloomed the fall of 2008, but most are blooming for the first time this summer. Prior to this seedling crop I had some seedlings from older diploids that I played around with, but never came up with much of anything to want to post pics of. I'm happier with what I'm getting from the newer tets than with any I got from my dabbling with the older dips. Thank you everyone for all the encouraging comments on my kids. Linda

Kate - FVS is a prolific rebloomer. Some years, it's had three cycles of bloom. It's good to know the mums can rebloom if sheared back. Julia - The mum overwinter here until we get a winter with zero temps, and then they die out. They're really doing great in the red bed, with five of them growing together to make a huge flowery mound. I'll take a photo when the whole thing is in bloom. Heidi - Because of the grandparentage of Ain't Misbehavin, it could be the other parent of the late seedling. But Mister Bubbles is right in front of W. Good Old Days, and Techny Peach Lace used to be in back of it, and both of those are late bloomers. I would love to sell FVS to my Gardenweb friends! Nan - I'm always when thrilled when a seedling turns out to be a late bloomer. There are just too few good lates. That's a good idea to cross the Karelia Seedling with Ruby Lipstick, or my Ruby Lipstick baby. Debra

virgo45 - what happened to the "mutant" blooms from last year? Did they bloom this year and were they normal or mutant again?

Brooke: One of the Mutants from last year winter killed and the the second one came up as a normal daylily this year. The one that came up did produce a very common flower that was of no interest in any way at all. Good memory Brooke and thanks for asking.

I can still drag things out of my lone functioning memory cell on occasion and this was it - lol! I still think something happened in the shipping from one country to another country regarding x-raying the contents of the envelope.

You are getting some great seedlings - keep planting.

Great looking seedlings. #5, #3 and #1 are my favorites in that order. Looks like one of them didn't come thru. What about bloom size? Regardless of size, I do like that red one.

Tom I didn't measure the bloom size this year as it was their first blooms. Six weeks without rain caused all sorts of problems and I don't think any stats would be reliable. They were all fairly average size around 5 plus inches. Thanks again.

That is indeed an awesome array of colors - especially for september! They're all great, but I like the unusual coloration of #2.
