That's a darling picture, Cynthia. Toads can end up in the oddest places. More than once the water wouldn't come out of the watering can spout. When I look down the spout I see a toad face staring back at me. They crawl up into the spout to keep from drowning. The toads around here trill, or so I thought. I've never actually observed them as they make the trilling sound, but was told toads were the source of the sound I sometimes hear beneath my bedroom window at night. DD put signs up in the neighborhood tonight. By tomorrow night I hope he has his family back. Otherwise we will find him a good home in a few days. I figure if someone doesn't look for him soon they really don't want him back. If our dog was missing we would be all over the neighborhoods and asking questions PRONTO. We were outside most of the evening and nobody was looking for him.

TG, A kookaburra is a type of knigfisher. The blue kingfishers look like kookas but are much smaller, 15-20cms and a beautiful electric blue (best way to describe it) colour. You would know it if you saw it. There are other varieties but they are the most common. The blue winged kookas have a pale blue where MMs is white on the wing. Blue winged are generally found on the eastern coast, usually in the northern parts. When I was a child in Brisbane, we raised a blue wing when it fell out of a nest. We never locked it up so used to come and go for many years.
