I picked up some triple crown last year in Aug from one of the big box stores (very cheap). They have thrived and are even producing a nice crop this year. My raspberries (encore) Which are a wonderful summer bearing variety which is nearly thornless, a big plus, have been in for several years and the problem is not to get them to grow but to control them. They will start anytime, anywhere it seems. No advice on blueberries here i'm afraid, I don't seem to be very good at them.

We are making a dream trip to Arizona in late summer or early fall, we havn't finalized things yet. WE are going to drive the entire way from TN....stopping to see what we want to see on the way, take a zillion pictures, and probably buy a zillion plants LOL. I really would love to meet some fellow gardeners who live in Arizona before we make the trip. Maybe we can set up a trade. I have quite an extensive sedum collection, which would do well in your area. We havn't pinpointed it yet, but we have it narrowed down to most likely Tuscon. We are herpers..my son works with the reptiles at the local zoo, so his main interest in the trip is to see the local reptiles ( which I love to photograph)..

Wary of starting on too much with the heat and lack of rain, but I have started some kohlrabi (60 days) and climbing spinach and dill. I just need to refresh some of the dill seed. I also have some small tomato seedlings and peppers I'm going to set out. Need to go through my seeds and see what else I'm going to do. Tomatoes are just starting to yield and my cukes are looking good, but nothing off of them yet. Wanted beans but it's just to dry for them, may try some late okra if I can get it going. Hoping that this next week we'll get some good rain!

Dear Cathay, I'd like some of the centaurea dealbata for the Green Elephant. Either divisions or seeds would be fine. I also like centaurea macrocephala, and I have fresh seed, but no divisions. It's got a taproot and doesn't transplant well. Please invite your neighbors to the Green Elephant too. I got a post from someone wondering whether it was a closed event, or a club.
