Things are winding down big time. Here's some pictures from yesterday and today... If you are bored easily, skip this post, I think I've posted pictures of all of these previously.

Atomic Inferno, LFO today. It has a weird bleached area, like I think a couple of other people have mentioned they've seen before on other daylilies

Point of Divergence

There are a few others with buds still, but they weren't blooming today or yesterday - Coyote Moon with rebloom, Sins of Omission, Jellyroll Morton and a couple of others I can't think of off hand.

wow; They are all just beautiful. I just love CLAUDINE'S CHARM. Hope to have that one some day.CAMEROONS is a beauty, too.I never get tired of looking at same ones again, afterall, they are new blooms each day.MOUNT ARARAT is a beauty, too.I love them purples, and the deep red's, too.Thank you for posting these beauties.I only have 2 blooming right now. BEAUTIFUL EDGING and LAST REWARD, still blooming but, I have a rebloom scape growing on BUTTERED POPCORN. its still a couple weeks away from blooming.

Laura, you have a lot more blooming that I do, and you sure love your purples (as do I). Love all the Hansons, and your Emmerichs are looking nice, too. Atomic Inferno and Concrete Blonde are calling my name, probably because they're so nice and bright for end of the season blooms.

Thanks for your comments, everyone. Rita, I think my Startle is actually a "Startle wanna-be" substitue of some sort! Michelle, Hope your Sings The Blues blooms this year, and I hope to see a photo of yours! Ann, Indy Long Legs is a fabulous plant, fertile too, if you're into dapping pollen. It took me a long time to appreciate UFOs and spiders. They don't always look the best in some photos, but in a garden setting, it's neat to watch their petals flowing with the breeze. I am really hooked on them now. Jean, It took me a long time to add Siloam Dbl Classic to my collection, mainly because I'm not too much of a fan of the peony type doubles. But that particular color of pink drew my attention, plus the fact I hear it's a long bloomer once established. NJ, I promise you'll love Indy Long Legs! Jan, Yup, I was amazed too, at the difference in my two STBs. Evidently it needs as much sun as I can give it! Betsy, Ya, that Startle is sure something else! Hope you are able to get Indy Long Legs...it's a heavy bloomer here! Julie

Julia, Almost all the seedlings I've posted this year have been from seeds harvested in summer of 2007 and started under lights in Dec. and Jan. of 2008. Some bloomed the fall of 2008, but most are blooming for the first time this summer. Prior to this seedling crop I had some seedlings from older diploids that I played around with, but never came up with much of anything to want to post pics of. I'm happier with what I'm getting from the newer tets than with any I got from my dabbling with the older dips. Thank you everyone for all the encouraging comments on my kids. Linda

Carol, this is the first season for Mamy Blue in my garden. I have it in a group with Scented Lavender, Blue Girl (Nirp) and Blue River, all planted at the same time. In comparison to the others, it has been a bit slow, hasn't grown or bloomed as much as the others however, the blooms are lovely and have a wonderful scent. As far as health goes, good so far, no sign of BS or PM (yet) whereas Blue River and Blue Girl have developed BS. Judy, you're right - time seems to fly! Maybe it's age, lol!!!! Inga, I just finished going thru over 10yrs of rose photos, picking out the best ones to make files for my slide show screensaver. I ended up having to spread them over 8 separate alphabetical folders and some have over 4000 in each folder! Lots of photos! What really gets to me tho, is when I see the older photos from my previous camera. These can't even compare to them. I wish that camera hadn't become so obsolete. It was a much better one. I'm going to have to try to find another one one of these days that takes better pics. They're both Sony cameras, and both basic point-and-shoot types, not the fancy slrs, but clearly the older one had a better lens. Hmmm... I wonder if Santa is paying attention?... LOL

I never tire of beautiful blooms and the last blooms of the year are the most precious to me. I love each and every one you posted with Mount Ararat, White Eyes Pink Dragon and Concrete Blonde especially pleasing to my eye.

They really are all very beautiful, & several with that watermark look that I love. Heavenly Angel Ice has not grown very well for me, I'm afraid the kiwi vine grew much too close to it. I've moved it & hope it does better next year. It is already looking better. That is a great flower on White Eyes Pink Dragon, & Claudine's Charm is always amazing. Like Celeste said, the last blooms of the season are to be savored. I only have a few plants reblooming now. Supposed to be really hot this next week, I imagine they will bloom out pretty fast.

Those are all very pretty, and a welcome sight at the end of the bloom season. Claudine's Charm is particularly lovely, but I'm going to have to get Concrete Blonde. That bold, bright color is wonderful to see in the garden at this time of year.
