Just a quick note! I have to put a hold on all cuttings offered I had a call from the nursing home in NH where my Dad is--he asked last week to be taken off all medications and has been in bed since with oxygen and he is not responding. My brother is close by (Maine)and also called me and said he is going there-have had contact with staff at nursing home, my neice and friends and they all say he will not make it very long -please keep him in your prayers for a safe passage to the destination he has been seeking for months! This is something that I had accepted but it is tearing me up to lose him. Please pray for me to handle this! Kristy, the Lowes in Aranasa Pass, never has anything in the clearance rack. The manager only marks down for her friend. The employees told me about it, but I have seen it with my own eyes twice. She marks down great plants, usually 4 seperate 4 shelf racks for this lady. So, if the Island is Port A, then you just saved time. If you want deals at Lowes, San Antonio, is the place to come. Yesterday, I went and they had their hugh Queen Palm trees marked down. I got them for $10 each. The small ones were $4. I needed 4 to replace the Royal Palms I lost this past winter. I know better than planting in July or August. I think the palm trees will be ok, I just need to get the old stumps out. I went to get seed starter, but the palm trees were in the front, I had to actually walk over there to make sure I was reading the sale sign correctly. Barbra

We have museaums, theatres, Mckee Gardens,a mall GARDENFEST,and the beach.Though I never go to the beach I am a Land Lubber! I mean ,it's just sand and water right ?LOL! Hey Guys, it is so good to read again from all the old timers, that I have learned so much from in the past years. I come here hardly ever anymore, missing the old timers and the old friendly forum. Our garden does not look very good as well these days. Many tropicals have hard time surviving the weather we have been having lately. Most of my time and effort is taken by homeschooling my son (we just started this school year, after a not that good experience in magnet school last year) and chess tournaments (new passion of my son :-) I do wish everybody a great New Year, especially to those who deal with hardships. I would be up for a plant swap. Just to see everybody would be great! Maybe it is the motivation that I am lacking to kick me into the gardening mode again.
