I posted "bloom pictures" over on the WBIYG post and Laura asked to see some pictures of the rest of the garden so she could see how it filled in since her last visit a little more than a year ago. For those who don't know me, a little background on my current garden, I started this one 3 years ago with nothing but the trees and white sand. So far I have concentrated on getting the beds laid out, the sand enriched and the ponds in. Some of the beds are jammed full while others are still a little sparse as I wait for plants to mature. I hope you enjoy my slideshow!

Just beautiful. It has become much more mature.
The garden beds more defined and lush. Same with your newest pond. Looks so lush and peaceful.

Thanks for the slide show!! Yes you are creating a beautiful lush garden. Your pond is great. Your beds are filling in nicely, love the caladium bed. BUT you need more roses...just kidding. Remember: 1st year they sleep 2nd year they creep 3rd year they leap. You should have some leaping roses here pretty soon!

Stuffradio - Thanks, I didn't even try to grow watermelon this year. Those just popped up from seeds that I grew the year before and I just let the vines run. I think I got 2 good sized melons and about 4 smaller ones. They need a long and hot summer to grow well. I guess I take that for granted here in Georgia. Good luck to you too! pnbrown - Thanks, those were melting sugar snow peas. I am actually in middle Georgia, and I planted those peas too late last year. I planted them around Feb. 15 and by May we were hitting 95 to 100 degrees, it was crazy hot. I actually put some Oregon Sugar Pod II's in the ground today. I am hoping by starting a little bit earlier that I will have better luck. I had a pretty good harvest last year, but I hope this year to get the same harvest from less seed planted.

LOL @ vinelover! I've been waiting for some of the spring-blooming shrubs to get going and my Miss Kim lilac is going full force: Also my weigelas have just started blooming yesterday and I had a hummer late yesterday afternoon find it and start nectaring on one of them (the "Wine and Roses" along with nectaring on the lilac, which is the first time I've seen one peck at the lilac): The above windowboxes (the furthest left) have S. cocinnea 'Hummingbird Red' and the center one has the alyssum & red petunias. Also in the pic are asiatic lilies and redtwig dogwood. Plus my heuchera 'Firefly' is also blooming: All these red things are to keep the hummers coming. Am also trying to plant shrubs and perennials to extend the bloom season from March (with the pussywillow and crocuses) -> October (with salvia and agastache).

Hi Felix! I used the gingers you gave me to soften the back of the waterfall and they are coming along beautifully! Really filling in now. I am glad the plants you got from me are doing well! How about some pictures of your rose bed? I would love to see how it is coming along!

Laura-Actually I am planning on adding more roses this fall. Some will be replacing "dogs" and some will be "squeezed" into other areas. I have twelve on my wish list right now but am trying to narrow it down to seven or eight or nine! *SIGH* Can you say "Rose-Addict"?????????

katkin-I am sure you recognized plants from your garden that have helped bring mine to it's current state. You are welcome anytime you get up this way!

Linda-The amazing variety is a direct result of my gardening method-"Find a plant you like then find a spot to put it in!"

Oh, Susan, more cool photos!!! Your gardens are wonderful. I've missed out on so much by not visiting this Forum. Duh! I love the geometric layout and the paths created by the beds and all your lush plantings and the pond and waterfall. Wow, I like everything. I'll have to make a trip. I'm sure it's even more exciting in person!
