More of Todays Daylilies (not on the Plateau)

Didn't know how to group things. These were blooming in all sorts of spots around the garden but not on the plateau as I have other posts for those ones.

Group of Velvet Eyes. This is a small flower but it carries a lot of punch. One that I just love.

They are all beautiful, Rita. You picked some great ones to grow. My favorites are BELLE OF ASHWOOD and FANCY FACE.

Wait until I get that far as I still have afew straggerers but I will post pictures of the empty plateau bed before I start to replant. A very few of those plants are gone as they were dogs here but almost all moved to the redone areas and the new daylily row but mostly to the area on the slope were there were no daylilies at all before I started. I always wanted rebloom up there and of course was not going to get it on my southern evergreens. I will be moving things like many of my Emmerich intros up there in order to get rebloom. There are (were) 4 rows there and since two are totally gone now and the third is mostly gone, I hope to have leftover room even after I put daylilies back in there.

I plan on having a 'work day' this weekend if the weather holds as promised. I will pick up the wood for framing the raised bed tonight or tomorrow, already have the dirt at home, just waiting for the 10 day Roundup clearance to end. I am only putting smaller flowers (16-26") up along the front walk in raised beds. Once I move them up to the front, I can plant the new taller ones in the older beds. I like Todd Monroe and have been trying to decide if it or Siloam Shocker will go. They look too much alike and I have limited room. I think Todd will win as it is a rebloomer. I had a seedling I meant to evict, but forgot to mark which of two plants it was-and I don't want to toss the wrong one, so it may end up there until next year. Other evictions/overgrowns are going out to the holding bed at Dad's for next years spring plant sale-that's where I get my flower money! Once I get that done, I am hoping to have one segment of the back bed cleared so I can add things to the soil as it is full of clay there and the daylilies aren't fond of it. Then in the spring, I can cross things from the other side of the back bed and amend that side of the bed. Will probably drive husband crazy by then. :)

Hmmm. I wonder how I managed to write a reply and not post it. Oh well. Those are going to be beautful, but that is SOP for your garden. I love the dark red one. Have you got bulbs coming too, Rita, or will this finish your fall planting? I am in my typical situation of having a few less spots than I need, but partly that is because I am avoiding the area where I lost lilies to crown rot. My last lily auction win came a few minutes ago with a super bonus! I love Salters, and this is Wild Child, so it will be planted. kay

Was out walking the garden after the rain stopped today and everything is looking good. The daylilies are really greening up and sending out new fans. Both the ones I transplanted and the ones that were not moved that I gave a good dose of Neptunes Liquid Seaweed Fetilizer too after blooming. I am please with the redos, I think its going to look very good next year. Am especially very pleased with those daylilies in the steep driveway slope, I think that was one of my better ideas. Even if it was difficult to get them planted. I am also glad I relocated those large roses, they look great in their new locations and the daylily section in started in the empty space they came out of is coming along well and should look good next year. My side of the house redone rose garden turned out really well, I might not even have to do any more there but just wait for the little roses to grow. I also like the regrouping of the daylilies in the terraces garden and the fact that I decided to make tower square a combo very late daylily garden with iris. The redone plateau, I think is better than the first time around. I am dissapointed that I don't have at least an empty row in the plateau for new purchases. When I planned all this moving around, I really thought that I would have a row or more leftover for new stuff.

Really nice bunch of lilies! Love Betty Ford & Fancy Face!I have a fan of Velvet Eyes, I don't guess it will bloom this year :( Sure hope mine looks as good as yours does.

There are some nice ones. I am glad I picked up Belle of Ashwood. I will post pics when mine blooms.

VELVET EYES really does look like that . At least on my monitor it is an excellent representation of the flower. Plus the throat really does looks black.

Fancy Face catches my eye as well as Betty Ford. Great pics.

I was impressed the first time I walked into a daylily garden with thousands of blooms with mixed colors and having to discover the ones that you like that others may have missed,that my garden is planted by time of purchase and not any color cordination. If it is pretty, it will be pretty anywhere.

I think this picture really shows off SEDONA and what it truely looks like on a good day. SEDONA has such soft colors that I find it difficult to photograph but this shot seems to have captured it.

Beautiful photos. I wondered what Fancy Face looked like in a garden setting. It's beautiful! I'm glad you posted it.
Your last photo of SEDONA looks like it belongs on the cover of a daylily magazine.
Oh, I think I'll probably have to get VELVET EYES after seeing this pic of it. I'm NEEEEDING another dark one, and I think that is the one.
