They all look real PURTY, Cliff! Healthy, green, and thriving! Looks like you are giving them lots of loving care, and it shows. I just love that big ol' sunflower tree, don't you?

Guess it is my turn for the Fs.... Farmers Market...Laurie and I at our table on May 23, 2008. Fireplace at Christmas time... I love the Front entrance of our house, the way the walkway winds and the trees and shrubs around it. F is for Fog. This is the view from our house looking over the valley in the summer. We never tire of seeing the Fog in the bottom of the valley. Sometimes it is so thick you cant see in the valley at all, all you can see is the other side. F is for Fishing. This is one of the many fish we caught this summer. Going Fishing is one of the best reasons to get me to temporarily leave the acreage and its flowers in the summer. and then of course, if it is a good day fishing, some Fish Fillets... Framed pictures. This old window is one that a friend of mine made up. He took these pictures, placed them in the old window and has sealed it such that no moisture can get at each picture, either from the front or back. He has a number of these type of old windows with pictures inside them hanging from his fence. I love them! Here is one of my friends garden signs with a Friends and Flowers saying.... Here is a Friend sign I painted a few years ago... Frozen Fruit (strawberries) taken out of the Freezer so I could make jam. Fun in the hot tub. Younger kids really enjoy it, even if they have to wear a life jacket! Fun on a tube behind our boat at the lake. Now, this is fun, for the older kids. We make them wear life jackets too! Field of crocuses at our friends place.... Frosted Jade Plectranthus is a new plectranthus for me last summer. Flickers have come here each spring for the past few years. Here is a Northern Flicker picking things out of my lawn. Flabellata Columbine is a miniature columbine with large bluish colored flowers. Family Jewels Daylily Feverfew Foamflower First Frost Hosta Forever Blue Iris, SDB Forever Violet Iris, SDB... French Wine Iris, MDB, is the first iris in my yard to bloom each spring. Funny Face Iris, MDB First Crown Lily Frontenac Rose on June 30. Notice the leaves on this picture compared to the next one. Frontenac Rose on July 3. 4 days later. So, the difference between the leaves....anyone know what has damaged them? Fuldeglut Sedum With Sempervivums I am trying to get individual side pictures, top pictures and clump pictures of each variety. My turn for the H's.... deer hamburger. In the fall we save a few roasts, the tenderloin and sometimes the ribs from each deer the guys get. Then, the rest of the meat I take to my mom and dad's and use their commercial equipment, grind the meat up to make 'hamburger' and then keep some as ground meat, some I make into fresh frying sausage and some into salami. It's good!! If you look closely you can see the outline of the Hummingbird at the feeder. I don't know why the camera didn't get the actual hummingbird, but I rather like this picture. The Hummingbird moth actually stayed still for a second!! hyacinth bulb flowers Hot Lips campanula was new in the summer of 2007. It is a cute little campanula. And a few daylilies... Heavenly Treasure Daylily Houdini Daylily Huckleberry Candy Daylily Heliopsis blooms for so long each year. It makes a great perennial for anyones garden. Herman's Pride, closeup of the flowers Here is the Hosta order from Hostageek...2 boxes worth. I ended up getting about 150 new hostas in total this past summer, made 2 new large beds with them and filled in lots of empty spots in existing beds. Pretty sunflowers. Cute little bee on the first one. Brenda, I am sure I will be ordering more daylilies next year, once I see what happens with my garden this year. This year we are trying to concentrate on the back around the deck area. I thought these little ones would look good along the walk at the bottom of the steps, with lavender mustead, maybe. TF is that pot that the jade plant in a McCoy? It would be marked on the bottom. If it is, you might want to repot the jade plant in something else and keep the pot inside. It's very collectible if it is in good condition.
The rest of your plants are very nice.

You just solved a mystery plant for me!!! I bought a spinach tree at the University of Tampa Plant sale for under $4 because the vendor said it was host to a butterfly. They told me to wait to put it in the ground and I did but finally gave up and just put it in. Since I have the thing has grown 3 feet!!! I couldn't find any info on it until I saw yours and now I at least know what I'm dealing with.

Rachel, mine was started from a small cutting about 3-4 years ago. They grow pretty fast. Osprey Judy had a beautiful tree at her old house. I fell in love with it.

Rachel, you can trim your spinach tree as much as you want to keep it bushy, plant the cuttings if you want a hedge of them, or grow one upright into a tree. They don't want any special soil or watering either.
The tender green tips can be boiled for 20 minutes or so, drain off the cooking water and rinse or plunge them into boiling water again. They are quite a good vegetable that way.

Cindee & treefrog thanks for the info. I'm excited that I even know what it is. I felt bad because when I stuck it in I kept forgetting to water it yet it somehow kept on trudging right through the drought and managed to even grow. I think I'll try and turn it into a small tree because I have very little shade for other plants. I also need to start some cuttings because I needed 1 more (a symmetry thing in the garden).

Thanks again for the info. I'm learning so much here from everyone!

And Cindee, that is so cool that you started cherries jubilee from seed! That is one of my favs in my garden. Your violets are very pretty too.

I just planted a cherries Jubilee this past week and it does not seem to like it where I put it. Do they need shade? Mine gets morning shade but all the afternoon sun. Should I move it?

Jardinera-mine is in full sun, all day, in dry raised soil. I don't know why it thrives with so little water. It is in the middle of a mound where I planted about 5 Bald Cypress trees and is just happy where it is. I started it in a pot on the patio, but it really took off when I threw it out back. This spring it was sprawling and gangly so I did a harsh trimming on it and it came back full and blooming this summer.

The Steak and Ale has a Spinach Tree out front. Neat leaves. The trunk is about 3" in diameter. The Landscape is the only thing I like about Steak and Ale..lol....
