Just compost/mulch, used to be called Philly-Mulch,free from the water treatment facility(purified people poop with wood chips).This year it is called Earthmate Mulch,new process of composting it, now it's safe to use around edible plants. It wasn't before.I put the fine stuff on my beds before planting.That's it! I even used it to make up potting soil mix! Great stuff & free! Theresa

Nancy, It took me till the 2nd time ordering from a different LA seller to get swirling waters. I have only had bad luck with one seller on LA and it was she sent me something else besides swirling water and I emailed her and she was supposed to send a replacement but never did. But I guess I am 1 of those customers you will only hear from twice then I just dont order from them anymore. It did not bloom till the following year so I could not email her about it till a year later. It took forever to get my order from her, had to have Mike handle the seller and she sent my order then one was wrong and there was no way for me to know till it bloomed. Jill

I think you are right Rita. After I purchased it is when I actually started inquiring about it to some northern growers and hybridizers. Many of them said it blooms ugly for them. Made me start 2nd guessing my purchase after I saw that 1st bloom. I can't use pollen from an ugly daylily. I have a bad habit of seeing something I like, buying it, then figuring out how to take care of them...lol Julia I hope your CE blooms improve for you. Glad to know I'm not the only one that looks at some of my purchases when they bloom and wonder what was I thinking. Also, glad to know that most daylilies grow out of their ugliness. Andrea

Hi Again, My Aztec Gold has pink on the backside. Here's a pic I just snapped. Here is Thorntons Lemon Drop, no pink on the backside. It could be Celedine, a common yellow, has no pink on the backside. And I had to throw in this Stargazer Lily that is blooming beautifully and very fragrant!
