I just want to say thanks!

Awhile ago someone here was looking for one of Judy Davison's introductions and someone posted the link to her web site. Now I've known Judy a good while and I hadn't looked at any of her newer intros in a few years so I went over and looked. I decided I had to have LITTLE BIG EARS.

Thanks, to the person that posted the link. Well I sent Judy an e-mail asking if she had any and she told me it was all podded up and that she couldn't sell any until Spring, but told me to get a hold of Bob Selman (Blueridge). Thank you Judy!

Next I checked out Bob's auctions on Ebay and the Blooming Auction and couldn't find any. I e-mailed Bob and he told me he did have some on his list. I didn't know he had a list but I told him I'd take 2 and paid the postage with Paypal. Maybe I got the box of plants I received today because I have been a steady repeat customer but I was really surprised. There were 8 fans of LITTLE BIG EARS, and double fans or better of the following as bonus plants LONG SUMMER DAYS, CENTRAL PARK, CABOOSE, and JUMBLE EDGE. I've been collecting Whatleys so JUMBLE EDGE WAS the real bonus. Oh I forgot the say they were all huge too!

isn't Bob at blueridge great! he has alot on ebay too, i emailed him this spring on what kind of tags and marker he uses and he was quick with an answer and all the details and his plants are huge and the bonus es are great i got broadway raves as a bonus and it bloomed itself crazy this year , you can buy one of his is like two of some ones elses. holly

I want to thank you for the wonderful contribution you made to a post a few days ago -- well, maybe longer than that -- where you talked about tissue culturing and fertilizing. I've gone back to it several times to reread and absorb more. Your comments made me realize at least part of the reason Remember Me is such a disappointment; in an effort to have lots and lots available to sale as a breast cancer memorial, developers probably put way too much nitrogen on the plant. Last year I was given an RM with 5-6 eyes; this year it has only 1. Also made me think that an advantage of buying online is that the plants are usually shipped bare-root. If the plant were a recent tissue culture, the root system would be so tiny no one would ever buy from that supplier. I, for one, am glad you've become part of our world. Nance

The thing is his prices always look high but then the box comes, it's seldom just a double fan, and every order this year had a couple of bonus plants. I really liked most of them, even the double. I guess you could say I'm making lemonade I'm putting spidery pollen on it to try and make some double spiders.

I just wish I had asked him to put the scapes from LITTLE BIG EARS in the box so I could try and get some pollen out of them.

Thanks for the heads-up on a new source. I like hearing rave reviews about sellers, since I add so few now and want to make sure I'm ordering from the best folks out there.

I think Debra posted a pic or two of Little Big Ears, and it looked like it would be a fun parent. I love Judy's intros and have a couple myself -- they can be difficult to locate.

Apparently it was my photos of Little Big Ears that inspired you. What a lot of great ones you ended up getting a lot of great ones from Bob Selman!
