Cora--just cut the bottom of the stem at an angle and put ot in potting mix in the shade until it roots. I have plenty if you need more. I may try rooting some soon

Cora Thank you for comming & I will get with you soon about picking up the bop ut wednesdays and sundays are my only days off from the shop and I am also cleaning houses on wednesday mornings so tme is short. We definately want iit though and I have a place in mind for it..

Linda thank you for all your help.. Did you get the sign from beach blvd? I went and it was gone so I wanted to be sure you got it..O bythe way Christina stopped and bought soil and planted her coleus.. Im so proud of her...

We also had a great time. sorry we had to "rush off." we had company from out of town and the boys were missign a nap and getting "grumpy" very quickly. we didnt want it to become a scene. grin.
but it was really nice to get together and share plants.
thanks to everyone for the plants and seeds.
I will work hard to get my main vanilla to grow strong so I can propagate it more next year. (hope also to have some other interesting goodies...will keep you informed. grin.)

I spent all day yesterday planting my new plants and seeds. I will share pictures when I get them going.

Cora: the orchid trees. I was only able to get one plant separated from the other three. so i braided the other three trees that were close together. looks like it would make a very nice braided tree. is that ok, or am I going to screw them up like that? any chance the three trees are different color flowers?

I went out my normal route so hopefully the 2nd sign was at the end of the street, but the sign at Beach + Forest was gone!
I can't find the plants I got from Brian!!! I unloaded all the plants last nite and put them all in the patio in the shade (did not take time to look to see what I had) Tonite I cannot find them! WAAAHHHH! Did I leave them on the table??
Long day today and exhausted so will not be potting up any plants tonite or getting Jeremy's "mailouts" packaged up--work will be tough this week
Donna--I think we might be converting your friend to be a gardener!

Brian, I've never seen orchid trees braided, but that's not to say it can't be done. They are so prolific, I'd say go for it. If they don't make it, the seeds are easy to come by and literally pop up from the soil. So far as I know, the seeds were all from the same lavender tree. cora

Linda I got the sign from forest & stone but beach blvd.. As for the plants nothing was left on the table.. I will double check but I dont think they were left here.

Brian Im glad you enjoyed your short visit.. Please if you can let me know the name of the tree you gave me as I forgot again.. Hopefully next swap your family will be able to stay for awhile and visit..

the tree is a Cherimoya. do a google search for it and you will find tons of info. the fruit is great and that tree is about 4yrs old (but has been stunted by growing in the pot...) I suspect it will really take off if you put it in the ground. mine do great all year so far under a live oak canopy. no fruit yet... will likely take a few yrs (if ever) because I grow them from seed. we will see. but keep me in touch if it ever flowers!! grin.

Sorry I missed it sounds like a fun time was had.
We had a crazy weekend had to get a ton of things done before Monday becasue this week I was helping to run a "plant camp"
for kids. lol what a trip it was 16 kids aged 8 - 12. we had so much fun
donna you might want to sign your kids up next year.

I hope to make the next one.

I am considering doing a get-together late Sept/early Oct. Anyone interested?? If so I will start a new thread.
It will be cooler then and maybe(?) I can get the gardens looking good before then if they don't bake in the firey furnace of Aug.
