Hi Karyn, I read this stuff from a local newspaper, here is the recipe (I quote as it was): "Take a quarter kilo of whole, unpeeled garlic and separate one liter of water, bring to the boil, simmer for about 15 minutes, remove from the stove and leave to stand for approximately 12 hours. Then strain it through fine muslin cloth and spray on pests. The same garlic can be re-boiled two or three times before losing its potency. Proportionally increase the amount of garlic and water for larger batches. This spray is completely safe for both indoor and outdoor use and should be applied 2-3 times a week until the problem is resolved. This spray washes off in wet weather so donÂt use it during periods of extreme humidity." It worked best for me when applied in morning and just before evening i.e. twice daily. Happy Gardening. Night blooming jasmine loves the sun. If you bought the plant from a store that kept it indoors, that means after a certain time the plant grew soft leaves according to the indoor climate. Now that you have it and you want to have in your garden, just put it there. It's going to loose all those soft leaves and grow new ones according to outdoor climate. Don't be scared, all the leaves are going to dry up and die, but it's going to grow new ones according to the "too much sun, wind, rain", stronger and shorter in size. The only thing that the night blooming jasmine doesn't take is too much cold or snow. Eventually it's going to die. If you live somewhere where it never snows or if the temperature never goes bellow 40 degrees F, you're OK. Otherwise you have to take it indoors winter time. Good luck

NBJ reminds me of Bouganvilla - it thrives on neglect . Those cut back take longer to bloom than those left alone . My original plant was cut to almost nothing and is returning with beautiful growth - no flowers yet . Cuttings that are several years old and received no trimming have buds but no open blooms - yet . You may be just far enough north of us that it might take a week or two longer for your plant to set buds . NBJ seem to like plenty of sun and to be in the ground . Cuttings practically root before your eyes . My best performing NBJ is directly under a strong security light that runs all night long . I think that no matter how much or how little you do for this plant , it will survive and do just fine . I recommend planting it in the ground . Then start cuttings and put those in the ground in different places under different conditions . That experiment will tell you more about your own garden and plants than we ever could .
