My rosemary is still alive indoors, in January, here's how

I try to bring my rosemary plant through winter indoors each year, and if it survives it is definitely in rough shape the following summer. Generally worth just replacing it.

Last fall I tried something new. Before bringing it in completely, I brought in in for 48 hours' then out for 48 hours. Just left it at the door so I wouldn't forget.

Indoors is dry with a woodstove, outdoors was rain, frosts etc.
I kept doing this just until it got too cold, that is, freezing at night but not in the day, but definitely hard frosts hit it many times.

Now it's indoors, I water it heavily when it dries out. And it is growing from all points. So far no dead branches. It is in the brightest south window I have, and growth is a little leggy, but I've been clipping that off halfway for cooking.

Now that the days are getting longer, I predict if it doesn't get a pest it will likely survive the winter inside unscathed...
