A seedling furture intro of Gerda Brookers. She sent this by mistake instead of one of the ones I ordered last fall so now its mine plus the one I ordered is being shipped this comming week. So I get two for the price of one!

Barney is looking fabulous in that shot! But the photo that outdoes all the others is Fancy Face with the Red Alert lilies. Wow! Be still my heart!

Wow, Rita. You have a beautiful garden. The daylilies are going nuts I think..blooming like crazy. It would be hard to coose a favorite from all these beauties...Ellie

Silver, what an eye full. Lovely roses and healthy looking. I know you must feel bittersweet about leaving some. You have some other great plants too. I've never seen photos of bee balm, it's very pretty. Love your columbines. Super pictures. I hope you will write us when you settle even if you have no blooms. Hello again all, I have been taking these past few days one at a time. Some are good days and some are bad days (both for me and Jelika). But we are trudging onward. I am so grateful that I can come here and read all your posts of encouragement. It appears I am not the only one who has gone through this type of pain (even though some days it feels like no one in the world can understand what I'm going through). I am so glad that there are so many pets out there that have good and obviously loving homes. It makes me feel better. Biwako, my hat is off to you for bringing 15 deserving kitties into your life.. I don't know if my heart could stand losing that many... Yesterday was a bad day. I came home and Jelika did not want to eat or get up all that much. But Saturday was a relatively good day. Again we went outside in the sunshine and just sat there (which was nice because we have had about 35 solid days of rain here.. and she so loves to sit in the sun). She is still on Pred.. this coming weekend I may start the weaning dose... the vet wants her to come in for another check up but I just don't know if I can do that to her. She hates it so much. She may be getting slightly more dehydrated though so I should bring her in for a shot of the sub-q's. I really don't know why they didn't show me how to do it at home when i specifically asked them to last time (so that I wouldn't have to bring her in again for it!). Grrrr. It is so frustrating. Also, I am experiencing a problem that may be of my own making. My other cat, Kitty, has started "attacking" Jelika a little more lately.. and she has been acting like she's holding a grudge.. which she may be. I know I have been ignoring her a bit lately because I want to spend all my time petting/being with Jelika. Because I just can't stand the thought that one day soon there won't be a Jelika there to pet anymore. I do try to make a little "Kitty time" each day. But because I have to feed Jelika special food (stuff that Kitty really likes too, but she's a little too..uh...healthy (read fat) to eat it all the time) So she just sits there and watches me feed Jelika. I do try to give her a couple of "treats" at the same time so that she doesn't feel too left out, but I think she does anyway. I feel really bad about it. They have never been the best of friends, and Jelika has ALWAYS been jealous of any time that I spend with Kitty. If she ever saw Kitty in my lap cuddling, Jelika would come right up and sit even higher up on my lap or chest.. to get in front of Kitty (as if she OWNS me.. well I guess she does :) So anyways I have this dilemna because I don't want Jelika to see me spending too much time with Kitty in what could be her (Jelika's) last few weeks, but I also don't want to ignore Kitty too much and alienate her... I mean they do get along and they are friends.. but there has always been a bit of rivalry going on as well... Anyway I will update shortly. P.S I haven't tried pumpkin yet, but the lactulose seems to be working.. however it is dehydrating so i have only been giving it once a day instead of two.. I think I will try the pumpkin.

Well, this time,its not hard to pick my favorite one,as you have BEAUTIFUL EDGINGS in this bunch.Thats one I have had on my wish list for about 3 years now.Its just gorgeous.I think BARNEY is gorgeous, too.And, I also like that FIERY TEMPER and WMK PLUM PUDDING....PROMISE TO BEHAVE is beautiful as well,and I love the photo of FANCY FACE with them lilies.Thats a gorgeous photo. Do those type lilies grow straight up? What is the pink double DL behind PROMISE TO BEHAVE.It looks very pretty, too. These are all gorgeous photos.

In the picture above it sorta looks like the RED ALERT lilies wrap around the FANCY FACE daylilies but thats just a camera angle plus some leaning stalks. There is a row of FANCY FACE (planted in 2007) then this spring I added the row of RED ALERT AT Hybrid lilies in back. At the same time I planted those ORANGE ELECTIC lilies at the very end of the FANCY FACE row. Some of you might remember earlier threads with the ORANGE ELECTRIC and FANCY FACE combo. Those ORANGE ELECTRIC lilies started blooming much earlier than the RED ALERT, which just recently started blooming.

Those lilies do grow straight up and face upwards too, which most lilies do not face upwards.

That double behind PROMISE TO BEHAVE is SUGAR MOUNTAIN, more of a creamy yellow whitish color than pink.

So many to choose from it's hard to pick a favorite. Starblaze sure is different with the soft yellow and pink. I think W Mom Kirbys Plum Pudding is just awesome. Nice going on the Gerda Brookers Future intro it sure is a nice one. All are beautiful and I like the Red Alert lilies with Fancy Face.

Love all the clump and group shots, especially the one with Fancy Face and the red lilies...that's just fantastic! My fav dl of this bunch is Something Angelic though...I love it!!

Rita, I know you say you have a small yard, but that just doesn't seem possible with all the gorgeous daylilies you have! In the pictures your garden looks like a huge estate. You must be very clever with your planting layouts. :)

And again, I just love your asiatics mixed with the dls.

Actually, my yard is all multilevel. It took lots of work but with all sorts of terracing done there are garden beds just about everywhere. It is a normal sized suburban yard and believe me, daylilies are not the only things planted here. There are lots of shrubs and lots of roses and lots of other stuff besides lots of daylilies.

I am very clever with my camera angles LOL.

Love 'em all, but I really admire Pearlfisher Pink, every time someone post a pic of it I drool. Something Angelic is one I will have to get for my angel garden when I get it going. Thanks for sharing your lovelies.

Rita, you have so many beautiful blooms you must be at peak season. Hard to pick a favorite, but I'm leaning towards BARNEY (love that color) and the clump of ELEGANT CANDY.

They are all so gorgeous that I am just green with envy. Gerda's seedling is a real standout but 'Barney' is wonderful and so are your Westborne's and.....it is just too hard to pick a fav. with so many stunning flowers to choose from.

Excellent shots, Rita.

My favorite photo is Fancy Face w/Red Alert Lilies.

But the DL that really drew my attention was Samuel Bell. I've never seen anything quite like it. You photo is much better than the ones on Tinkers. I see it is listed with a brown eye and edge, however, your photo (at least on my monitor) shows more of a reddish-brown eye & edge, w/an extra yellow edging. Gorgeous!

Rita, I agree that your photo of FANCY FACE with the lily is just fabulous! I will definitely be adding FANCY FACE to my garden this fall! I had a really really hard time choosing a favorite as they are all so pretty, and so much variety! I really liked your Brooker future, and love the picture of PEARLFISHER PINK and ELEGANT CANDY (mine is just starting, and yours is so much "rufflier"), but I think my very favorite of the day is SOMETHING ANGELIC. I just love the color combination and the form...beautiful!

lala- No I forgot to ask her so I don't know yet. Will find out and ask next wek after my replacement actually ordered daylily arrives.

Julie (rarejem)- I was not really sure after I did it if the color combo on those RED ALERT lilies and FANCY FACE really worked or not. But its not getting changed so thats
it :-)) I wanted an entire row of those RED ALERTS as I like to do row runs and this is a place that I can see them all the time as soon as I walk out my kitchen door.

Julie (luvtoshare)- Samuel Bell is an odd color that is very pleasing to me. Not quite like anything else I have here. To me the eye and edge are reddish brown. Here is a picture I took today with it in the sunlight--
