Your favorite bitones

I've fallen in love with this look, too, (and pollinatorbob's creations). I fell in love with that controversial bitone in the catalogs and was wondering if you had a favorite similar one from a reputable source.

Was it Eleonore? I like the photos of that daylily too. Here's a lavender bitone that does well for me:

Inspired Edge (5" flower on 25" scape)

and two lavender/cream bicolors:

In Adamstown PA there is company called Goods. They make 2 kinds of chips: The blue box - kettle cooked in lard. The red box - thinly cut and more in line with most mass produced chips today. Most people around here specify the blue box...YUM! As in...."should I get chips for the party?" "yes. Goods" (and then almost as an afterthought, but just to be sure..) "....in the blue box!" But sadly I almost never have chips at home anymore. Too tempting,,,,and did I mention they are fried in lard? Lard has about 5 times the saturated fat compared to canola. But, if f I was eating a sandwich with them, it would be fried sweet bologna with mustard and chips in the sandwich.

Concerts, your favorites, least favorites etc

I have been to 79 concerts so far. First real concert was Aerosmith, so freakin long ago. Favorites have been Jethro Tull. Joe Cocker, Fleetwood Mack. the Band, foreighner, Pink Floyd, Doobies, (so good). Saw Heart at a tiny Theatre in Aberdeen just a few days after Dreamboat Annie came out. No one had heard of them yet, so......we were in the front row. Such a lucky night. I can say that there are only 3 or so concerts I did not thoroughly love, and none I regret. Well, yes.....I regret Thorogood. He was f-ed up and slimy with women, just an aging cliche. Paul McCartney was a snooze fest for me, but I am glad I have seen him, and loved the drummer. Bands I was not expecting to love like I did were the Rolling Stones, Lyle Lovett was just something to do, but from the moment the Large Band and Lyle began playing, it was so so good, and a top 5. Elton John was amazing. The Steve Miller Band is the most authentic singer and group I have seen, sounding exactly like their albums. Three Dog Night sounded the same live as on the albums too. If you have been to a concert where you realize the singer can't really sing as well as you thought it's sort of a slap in the face. Buddy Guy, Etta James. Mellancamp, Love Dave Matthews and the fiddle player. Love Love Joe Walch and Neil Young. EAgles, Clapton concert had terrible sound for some reason. Bonnie Raitt is worth seeing. Susan Tadeschi is a cross between Raitt and Janis Joplin and still tours a lot. She would be an affordable and amazing night out. I was determined to see Petty before I die, and am sad as heck he beat me to it. Took both my sons and wives to see Greg Ahlman, a year ago. Really great. Will never see Ringo, or Sam Smith. No Katy Perry or pit bull, No Adell for me, either. I would love to hear from anyone who has seen anything new, and current. Would love to get opinions. Go see every one you can, as often as you can afford to, and buy full cd's so you really get to know what the band is really like. If you stop listening to the current stuff, you get stuck in your decade of favorite music. But this period for me, is one of the best periods for music I have seen in a long time. My Kids had the late 80's and the 90s. A lot of good, and a lot of crap too. LOL.

In reviewing my photos, I find I do not have a lot of this type of lily. And no good pics of the ones I do have. Pony is in a nondescript and forgotten part of the garden. I had Malaysian Marketplace at one time but don't think it survived-Celeste's picture of it is really pretty. My Wren's Song has a more saturated color and I never thought about it fitting this category. Kay enabled me to get Clown Parade this year with her reviews and photos of it. I like the photos of Carolina Bound, Westbourne Good Old Days, Simply Charming, and Mississippi Magistrate (maybe I need that one!) Southern Cotton is interesting as the colors do not seem to fit the name. At least I never saw southern cotton look like that!!!! Kate

Thanks, Nancy for posting a pic of your seedling. Not sure whether your seedling takes after RR or CHarmed Existence because the pollen parent is a bitone too. Nancy and Signet, you are very kind! Wolverine X Van Helsing has nice branching and maybe 20+ buds. The only problem is that it is a late bloomer and blooms a lot at once so its bloom season lasts about 2 weeks. I have yet to see rebloom on it but it is currently in the seedling bed which is not a good place for it being crowded and competed with weeds and tree roots. Next year when I move it out, I hope it will show some rebloom. I have found that drought definitely dampens the chance for rebloom. Thanks Sherry for posting Little Jetsetter's size. I am a bit confused. Is it 15" or 3 1/4" ? Anyway, I love your pic of it and I really like to add it to my garden. Celeste, I somehow miss Lotus Position. That's a beautiful one too! Love its name!

Chris...your Banned In Boston is lovely. I have it, but it hasn't done so well for me...I'm not sure it likes our heat down here. I'm going to give it another season, then if it doesn't improve greatly...it's out of here!! :)

Ok,
I'm going to Betty's today and she doesn't have most of these like China Bride, Indy Charmer, Banned in Boston, or Cherry Chapeau. They do have Antique Rose Rose though. The other one they have is George Gets On which looks georgeous! I already had another planned in the 20.00 range and I'm just not sure I'f I can break down and buy two in that range-I may have to though, lol.

Bettys Country Gardens is out of Antique Rose, I know as I ordered her last ones.
