Hi Tina, I'm in Palm Beach Gardens and I have 4 Mangoes and several seedlings from their fruits, 1 thornless Keylime, 1 red Ruby grapefruit, a varigated pink lemon, several other "nameless" citrus trees, a lychee, 2 blueberries, strawberries, 1 Kona Koffe plant, 2 pineapples, 1 jackfruit tree (monsters on that one), several no-name roses, tomatoes, desert roses, mints, lilies, walking onions, various grasses, bromeliads, ferns, angel trumpets, gardenia, Tibouchina, butterfly bushes and more I can't think of the names right now. And, of course I want more...oh and I probably have about 300 packets of seeds or more...

Wow - that's a long way from me. Too bad I sure did want to see all those plants. I think you are close to Kathy. She's an amazing gardener and really nice too. Maybe she'll spot our posts and let you know if anything is going on around the east coast soon.

I have a bunch of veggies and I've just started a new flower/banana garden and a row of fruit trees. My stuff is all very young and I don't have a clue what I'm doing. :) see my baby trees:

I hope to add a couple this weekend, maybe a lychee and a pear. I want to keep them all around 10 feet....but I don't know much about pruning. If you find you are going to be in the Tampa/St. Pete area any time..let me know.

How pretty and healthy your baby trees look and you'll love the reward of fruit you'll get! I love Lychees - I eat so many at one time I get almost nauseous - but only almost. Most citrus does not need to be pruned heavily - just look for badly crossed branches that might crowd each other - you want good airflow to keep fungus at bay in the really humid summer season. Some citrus will get taller than the typical 12 to 15 feet but that just means more fruit! I miss pears, my grandma had a pear tree in her garden, oh so sweet the memories... :) If I'm ever in the Tampa area - I'll definitely give you a holler.

HEY! I love to eat okra, in fact I've never met a vegetable I didn't like. Heck, I even enjoy eating some weeds.

I do have a honeybell in the back yard and a meyer lemon in the side yard. In this photo are my brand new babies...a gulf beauty plum, florda prince peach, anna apple, turkey fig, lula advocado, pickering mango, and arkin macadamia. I have room for three more! Where'd you get the coffee plant? I thought they were mountain plants and wouldn't grow here. Do you get real coffee beans? I bet my hubby would go nuts over that! Got any photos? If you load them to photobucket you just have to click on the HTML code link beside your photo and copy it into your post and it pastes the photo. I'd like to see that monster jackfruit. ? I don't think I've ever seen a jackfruit.

Woops - okay who is it that doesn't like okra? I know its someone. Bzzy I was wrong - nothing stops Lou from talking. LOL!

I had beans last year and it's flowering now - the coffee that is. I had Okra for the first time in a salad in 92' and it was delicious so now I eat it regularly - I have not grown it yet though. The only vegetable I absolutely hate is rutabaga...all other I eat and enjoy. I also have a ylang-ylang perfume tree, bananas, kumquats, figs, an allspice, bay rum and 2 bay leaf trees, an african potato tree with the pretiest blue-white flowers, a baby avocado and several palms. there's more - but my memory fails right now! I'll take pictures in the morning and upload to share - some things are blooming nicely right now. Most of my plants come from ebay, some from online stores, some from cuttings from neighbors, the coffee came from ebay, too.

You just missed a swap in the Jupiter Farms area! I don't think you'll find many now since it's getting too hot. I would just keep and eye out here to see when or who is putting on a swap or get together.

Hello, it's nice to see you on the board. I have a lot of the plants you have too. My Ylang Ylang tree took a beating this winter, as did my royal poinciannia but they are coming back now. In fact a lot of my plants did. I love to talk gardening so send me an email if you'd like. :o)

If you have planted an Anna Apple tree you will need to also plant a Golden Dorsett or an Ein Shemer for cross pollination or you won't get any apples. So leave room for one of those two trees. (the closer they are planted to each other the better as the bees will flit from tree to tree)
The Anna Apple - 200 - 300 chill Hours
The Golden Dorsett - 100 - 250 Chill Hours
The Ein Shemer - 100 - 300 Chill Hours

All three apple trees are suited for your area.

I live in the area and I am up for gardening anytime. I do have one golden rule - I only plant it if I can eat it. I am in to the veggies and the fruits. Just started planting again after a break. Give me a hooler anytime - I am about 20 minutes from you in the Acreage.

I'm not far. I live in downtown West Palm Beach. Because I'm downtown, my lot is really tiny but I do have some plants to share. I know what you mean about wanting to share gardening adventures. My husband believes if it is a plant it should be cut, hard. I swear I can hear the screams.
