Help me ID this groundcover?

It grows like a teeny tiny hedge, anywhere from 3 in to 7-8 inches off of the ground (though I think it needs trimming, I'm not sure). It has tiny roundish leaves and is quite dense. It's quite popular around townhomes in downtown Dallas. I realize that isn't much to go on, but in reviewing types of groundcover I have not seen ANYTHING that resembles this.

Kingsville Boxwood, perhaps?

hmm .. i cant find any good info on the kingsville boxwood. everything i find relates to bonsai :(

I think that's it - I googled and found an image at MoBot that looks identical (linked below this message). The thing is, I don't remember it flowering last year, and it has no buds on it of any kind right now, although the MoBot page says bloom time is April-May. Could there be a non-blooming version or perhaps it needs more sun to bloom? Now kicking myself for spending all that $$ on english ivy starts when I could have just waited a year for this stuff to take over ; ) thanks - tesla here it is in my side yard on this gray Kansas afternoon... Why don't you stop at some of the homes that have it, and ask if they know the name? If they don't know, they might let you take a small piece to a nursery for an "official" I.D. :~) Barb
