Plant ID's, Please Help!

A few things I need help with. My good friend is moving into a house, and she was showing me her new backyard area. There are a few things planted there, but mostly she will be looking to me to help her get a garden started. She's very excited about it, and I'm hoping she will join us here at GW.

There is a large shrub that her landlady calls a "wild gardenia." I am pretty sure we have had posts about this one before, so I feel that some of you will recognize it. My other friend, Gary, said he thought it was a Cape Jasmine. What do you guys think? Is he right?

The second plant in the yard that we didn't recognize looks like a clerodendrum to me, but I'm not sure which one. It is similar to pagoda flower, yet looser and somewhat different. Anyone know what this is?

Also, I bought a plant for my White Garden that the gal at the nursery called a "white shrimp plant." I've had a white shrimp plant before, and it was very different from this, though this definitely looks to be in the family. (Justicia?) Anyone familiar with this one?

The first looks like Crape Jasmine, often called Florida gardenia.
The second certainly looks like a pagoda flower to me.
The third looks like "White Candles" Senecio articulatus

Marcia, I agree with froggy on Crape Jasmine. I have one and it took me forever to figure out what it is. No fragrance, but it's a lovely plant!

Thanks everyone for your suggestions; I posted this on another forum and they suggested it was Ficus Pumila...I'm not entirely sure what it is! The asymmetrical midribs make it look very different from any vine plant I've seen...

Yup, agreed on the ID. You could probably take cuttings a few nodes long & pot them back into mother plant's pot, to make it look even more full & lush.

Whitfieldia longiflora is the correct white candles bush, not the senecio.

Well, whatever they are Marcia, they're all beautiful!

Treefrog, you are great at ID'ing plants. Do you have a background in horticulture or did you just get this good from being such a great gardener?

Thank you so much, Treefroggy, and Cindee. Crape jasmine is exactly right, and so is the white candles, whitfieldia longiflora. I really like these!

Now, the plant I know as pagoda plant is definitely a clero, but it holds the red flowers upright above the leaves in a pyramidal shaped panicle (like a pagoda roof) and not flopping around in softer clusters like this one. I did see several clero photos that looked similar, including clerodendrum speciosissimum and splendens. But neither was exactly the same.

This is paniculatum or pagoda flower.

This one looks more like the one I'm trying to ID, to me. Or will the floppy clusters eventually become taller and more conical?

This is the clero speciosissimum. Do you think it looks more like the one in Barb's new yard? Or am I crazy. Oh, wait. I AM crazy. But that has nothing to do with this question! *giggle*

I have the cleo in the bottom picture , but I love the one in the top.... the pyramid shape flower

Now I must have it, here I go......collecting again............

The one at the top (what I call pagoda plant or pagoda flower) is all over this area. It's almost becoming a nuisance, but it is certainly a beautiful, healthy plant that is great for butterflies. I believe I can probably find a piece for you, JP. I will keep an eye out. If you pull the suckers, you can keep it under control, I believe. And in fact, where you live, it might not spread as much.

Still hoping someone will recognize the other one, so I can tell Barb what she's got.
