Cherry tomatoes are going to make dang small sun dried tomatoes:) Any tomato can be used but the drier tomatoes like Romas are easier as they dry faster. You can do them in a dehydrator of course. You can also make a small glass box and use that. Or......you can simply put them on trays and leave them in your car all day parked in the sun, take them out and bring them inside at night and put them back out the next day. As a rule only takes a day or two max. It may sound odd but that is how I do it....yes the car will smell a bit like a sundried tomato but it goes away in a hour or so after the tomatoes are removed. We just use romas for it, some we salt and others we herb. We like to use Herb de Provence the best for them.

I've never done cherry toms but think they would be good even if they are small.

Cut in half long ways, put skin side down on a cookie sheet, salt w/ coarse salt, stick in oven on lowest setting possible. Keep an eye on them and take them out when done - around 6 hrs maybe.

Either freeze them, or stick in sanitary jar w/ basil and a garlic clove.

The only important part is having some skin to put skin side down and get leathery.

Mmmm. I wish, I hope, I have enough toms to make dried this year. Had my first 2 cherries picked fresh this morning!

I cut them in half. The tomatoes, even the romas shrink a great deal and have no trouble reducing half of a roma to leather.
