Your practices - keeping your daylilies happy?

Hi,

I am relatively new to growing daylilies. My first daylily was Mini Pearl planted 3-4 years ago, and it is vigorous and healthy. I occassionally water it, weed around it and have added some composted manure on the top of the soil once a year. Basically, the same thing that I do with all my perennials.

So I kind of went crazy last year and planted many more daylilies. Now I wonder if there is something in particular I should be doing to keep these daylilies at their happiest?

Can you share your personal practices with me, in terms of watering, feeding, mulching, maintenance, etc? I'm espcially interested in the practices in or near zone 6. Thank you!
